- Sherman tanks have a device called a stabilizer. The steville riser maintains a stable position of the canon even if the Sherman tank moves. In fact, Sherman tanks can maintain a stable position of the canon even at 25 km/h. Therefore, Sherman tanks need a stabilizer.
- Sherman tanks need APCBC shells. Historically, Sherman tanks, which landed in Normandy in 1944, no longer used AP shells. The U.S. soldiers who landed in Normandy no longer used AP shells and replaced them with APCBC shells.
These are historical facts, and the advantages of the Warthunder game are well reflected.
Guess AP only exists to balance the Jumbo.
still makes no fucking sense to why normal Sherman has m72
Total laziness at this point. Otherwise, it doesnt make sense.
I want to say that Sherman has m72 during Cbt as well but I never made it to that point, didn’t play as much with my time being split on both sides, so it predates jumbo
that is the normandy alpha test since it had BARa2, mg42, mg34 STG, m1 bazooka, m1a1 thompson SMG all of which were official added in the open beta test. so it’s not the one i seek
While I always agree to more realism: This would also mean to remove the Jumbo from Normandy.
The devs seem to bend reality at least a little bit in order to provide more balance.
Just give it to M4A2 then.
honestly it would be a nice tradeoff for the extra armor that jumbo has
You could always just replace it with a 76mm Sherman which would be rather historically accurate, as the American forces were given the choice to bring them to Normandy but chose to bring the 75mm Sherman’s instead. Now with hindsight, we know that they should have brought the 76, but that is besides the point. Putting the 76mm Sherman in would give you the same choice the American tankers had before D-day, which would be nice. Personally, I would replace the Jumbo with the M4a1 (W) 76 and the M10 with the M4a3 (W) 76.
Dev is just waiting for the time to release customize shell type. And then we can grind shell type again.
Current shells mostly are default ones.
Don’t forget, shermans also posess a functional bow MG ;(
