As the title says I’d like a way to select what game modes I play when I roll the army roulette wheel. I don’t mind playing a lot of the game modes, however there is one Golden game mode that sticks out higher than all of them, and this is for all the wrong reasons. I really don’t ever want to play Confrontation again. To me this is the worst offering of a game mode that Enlisted has.
I’ve played this game mode twice and both times were the worst game of tug-of-war that I’ve ever played. The other game modes show you a sense of progression while you’re playing. But with Confrontation you can literally spend the whole match fighting over two points of interest in the center of the map pushing and getting pushed with no side gaining the upper hand. This kind of game play is so boring to me, fighting over two points of an hour is madness.
All the other game modes win, or loss have you fighting across the map itself, sure you may fight for a point or two for a few minutes before your team either pushes through or loses the match from ticket bleed. But with Confrontation the game ends with what seems like a stalemate because you’ve got two teams that just can’t push the other enough to win out right. In my opinion Confrontation either needs to be taken out of rotation, a serious rework, or just add a menu for players to select what they want to play when they fire up this game.
100% agree. Confrontation is the worst game mode it sucks and takes way too long. I will never understand how anyone has anything positive to say about it.
This mentions Free Release on Steam…it’s a free to play game. So how it is almost complete? Or are they talking about bringing it from 0.6 status to full 1.0? Cause if that’s the case then everything on the right side is years out from ever touching the game. So, it will pretty much be a more dying game if not a dead game by the time simple things that should have been in the game earlier get put into the game.
On another note, before they put penalties for deserters in the game they should fix or remove Confrontation. I’ll be honest when I see this game mode pop up in my match loading, I close client, it’s that bad. And I’ve seen so many people voice their distaste for this game mode on both steam community, and the Enlisted issue reporting website. While yes, I do think you should get penalized for leaving early it makes current matches harder to play with uneven numbers, however I think I should have a choice of were to spend my game time when I choose to click the squads button.
I’ll also point out from the in-development side of the image posted, if they are making aim assist for controllers even better than it is now which is my opinion is pretty good, and please future console player that read this please let me know what you think about current aim assist? But, why on earth would you ever use mouse and keyboard as a console player?
Some people like Confrontation, some don’t. The preferred maps system is hopefully going to give players more control of which matches they play.
Some console players use keyboard/mouse already on other games. Adding it as a possible feature for console users is a good thing, yeah? I expect that aim-assist would be disabled when using M/K, as it would be overpowered.
Also, the silver bonus for “join any team” has been implemented.
I don’t think that I have missed what you were saying with this image post. It’s just outdated in terms of where the dev team is with updates as some of these features are already in the game. It would be better to either have a new image with what still needs to be put in and what new things they came up with, or just put lines through what is already in the game.
Also, from my perspective I’ve pointed out that they have cherry picked around this update “map” so my concern is if they were to push out the penalty improvement either by itself as a mini update or as part of a bigger update that didn’t include player choice with regards to game mode selection it would turn a lot of the player base away from the game. I know that making a change to code is not easy and I’m willing to play and wait for the change however when devs skip over QoL updates for nonessential updates that’s a different story.
And what I mean by this is tank tread marks on concrete got the green light to be fixed over map and game mode choice. This to me is something small that didn’t break the game. Does it look weird? Yes, but it’s not as important as fixing crosshair placements for gun sights or weapons damaging players through non destructible walls.
I used to play on console years ago not with this game but other shooters so having aim assist makes sense because you don’t have very much precision unlike with MnK. And yes, using MnK doesn’t not have aim assist that would be really overpowered lol. However, with the post it is unclear if they are going to adjust aim assist for controllers for those that use them on PC or if they are making console controllers better and I’m going to be running into a bunch of terminators on console.
But to return to the subject of Confrontation and its issues. I’d say a potential fix for this game mode is to make it complete boots on the ground remove vehicles and planes and just have infantry type squads fight it out. For those that just started out with the game and only have the base squad count with default load outs give them a special weapon crate that their tankers on foot can pick up in spawn to give them an SMG to fight with. Or you can just spawn them in with the base SMG if you don’t want to mess around with crates and some people missing them and other getting killed before they pick them up.
You could also move objective spawn locations, so it really like we are moving around the map more instead of moving in a straight line back and forth. Or a sudden death type of thing if the time gets to a certain marker and no one side has the real advantage. The sudden death would be harder to do, but at this point I’m just throwing ideas out there.
Before any penalties are implemented they should fix the reasons people desert in the first place. I can honestly say that if not for completing daily objectives I would consider deserting as for the most part if your on the wrong side of a butt kicking there is nothing to be gained but playing your role as cannon fodder. Until the games get somewhat competitive again, desertions will never decrease, even with penalties. Here is the game I just concluded, and this amount of desertion is about average for games I play in. I finally just jumped in my plane and wondered why six bombs and repeated passes only killed one person inside log cabins. Those roofs are world class quality.
You have on the server and for this faction low online, it is normal for this game, you would be squad for the game, and this situation would most likely not happen. In my experience against you most likely several “packs” of the enemy. If you look at the replay of those who are in 1 place, it will become more obvious.
Again from my observations at high BR the Germans win, at low BR the Soviets win more often.
But the Soviets’ biggest vulnerability is not the imbalance of weapons, but the players themselves, who do not build rally points, snipers sit in the gray zone, and do nonsense, instead of storming the point.
P.S Nobody asked me of course, but I would recommend you to watch replays often and draw some conclusions from the game of top players. What they do, how they watch, etc.
It is clear that a 14-18 year old player will be better in everything (reaction, shooting, etc.).
However, in this game, it’s not even personal scoring that matters, it’s tactics. I’ve tested it many times. We in 2-3 won the team with a cheater. Yes he shot exactly at us, and that’s it).
Well, I can say from experience that Bombs from planes are like grenades on foot in this game. Many times, I’ve thrown grenades into a crowd of people to only get hit markers or kill one person like that one guy jumped on grenade to save the others.(Pretty cool if that’s what happened) But with bombs you drop them and if the enemy are not by a window/doorway or have their head right next to the roof you’re not getting a kill dropping bombs on houses.
It’s also similar to anti-infantry tank rounds I fire them into buildings with tons of people in them or next to a wall where a squad is standing and get hit markers maybe on the off chance, I get a multi kill, but explosives in general are inconsistent. Even the markers showing up to warn you of them are inconsistent. I’ve reported this bug with footage a few times to the devs and I’ve gotten no response from them not even a “We are looking into it” type of canned response.
