Please add the M1903A3 without a scope to the tech tree

I like the iron sights on the M1903A3, but the problem is it is a sniper so you can only put it on snipers, even when you take the scope off

even if you take the scope off the rifle cant use stripper clips to reload either which is lame

Thank you for your post, I agree.

Same with the Gewehr 98.

I would agree with adding the M1903A3 without the scope as a TT option. I wish snipers who carry a second weapon as opposed to an ammo pouch had the option of carrying other rifles other then just another sniper rifle that we have to remove the scope. It would be nice to let him carry any rifle as well as a semi auto. I like snipers, but I would rather have my sniper use his sniper rifle as his backup weapon as opposed to being his primary.

Exactly. I believe in real life one tended to keep one’s sniper rifle however this is a computer game and DF should be aware that by their own gameplay snipers are almost useless.
(as Enlisted is all about SMG spamfest on tiny objectives).

I really dont see why snipers arent allowed have a standard rifle as well. One could hardly call it OP, just means one is more useful for situations where a scope would normally be awkward.
Yes, we have pistols but those are a last resort self defence weapon. Snipers arent meant to go a John Wick taking objectives.

Id also mention the Japanese Type 97 LMG, it would be nice if it was easier to look down the basic iron sight. There is a way currently but its not very well implemented.

Furthermore Id like the Sniper class to be expanded to have more types of soldiers in it. Perhaps change it to a Recon squad instead of sniper so you can have multiple snipers but also engineers, machine gunners, riflemen, maybe a medic or one assaulter. You would of course be able to have more than one sniper but the current system where almost your whole squad are snipers is no good.

A game like Hell Let Loose it can work, but not Enlisted. Remember that even if one plays as a sniper (sitting further back, not attacking the objective with a scoped rifle), objectives are captured so quickly youre always guaranteed to be overrun and trying to take on whole enemy squads with a crappy sidearm.

Here is how I use my sniper squads. I love my level five German because I can use the Stg 44 as my primary. I like my level three Allies sniper squad, but if I had a choice I would use the Johnson or T-20 as my main rifle along with the M1 Garand sniper rifle. My sniper rifle is what I call a situational rifle as it only gets used in certain circumstances.
Level 5 German sniper squad
Level 3 Allies Sniper squad

… you know you dont need to use 2 garands, right? the scope is offset and doesnt prevent you from using the iron sights on the sniper garand…

I don’t like the site though as it is smaller then a non scope gun, as I’m legally blind in one eye, so I need all the site I can get. :joy: I can see in my left eye, its just foggy.

The sniper irons found on the type 99 sniper and type 97 should also be added to the tech tree but only to replace the current irons of the non sniper equivalent.
