to rangefind for moratars, to mark longer range enemy movements or marking a good arty position for arty
it means you dont have to run a sniper in your squads

Why is the one crew that would actually benefit from binocs excluded?
Give tank commanders binocs.

Because its has been already discussed in other topic. Of course tank commanders too, but you get sniped or shot if you peek from the hatch. At least on some maps.
to answer to other responses, For arty spotters it would be very useful, cause you need many times to asses the situation on battlefield alone or you are scouting as well. Basically any commander of any squad could use it. Also many times the perspective of the landscape at distance is flattening the view if you zoom in so to have better closer and maybe wider lens will help you to see where is the enemies and pin point their location on map after.
anyway its just idea.
