Playstation controls (and possibly other consoles) needs some attention

First and foremost, the controller input latecy needs to be reduced drastically on Playstation (and possibly on other consoles). Before anyone suggests altering settings, or suggesting that it’s a hardware or network setting/issue, please keep in mind that this is not the case, as I’ve done a semi-scientific comparison with other FPS games on the same console/display/network.

My results were that the PS4 controller input latency on Enlisted is @217 miliseconds (13 frames recorded at 60 fps). Battlefield 2042’s is @117 miliseconds (7 frames recorded at 60 fps). This means that Enlisted takes almost twice as long to react/display player input (85% slower, in fact). This makes the game almost unplayable, specially in PvP scenarios.

The other issue with the controls is slighty subjecive, but it’s still atypical when comparing to all other FPS console games. This is that there is too much unintended lateral movement when pushing the PS4’s left joystick forward to walk/run. To clarify, if you push the left joystick slightly to the left or right of the 12 o’clock position, and I do mean slightly, at just say 11:58 and 12:02, then the soldier starts to move diagonally. You have to play on PS to understand, but trust me, it’s nothing like ALL other FPS games. In Enlisted, it’s almost a struggle just to run perfectly straight. The diagonal movement/strafing can be left in, but the player should have to intentionally have the left joystick in the, let’s say 10 and 2 o’clock position to do so.

The input lag I’m not certain about, but the sensitivity on direction is certainly there. I’ve just gotten used to it at this point

On Xbox is the same, it takes so long to read the cross in particular
