I’ve just only recently started piloting more seriously and achieved the epic feat (for me) that is avoiding my arch nemesis: the ground. It says much about my poor piloting talents, but I’m slowly learning.
I’ve got a question however, about the bf110 C7 in Moscow in particular:
This is the stock BF-110 C7, it has a total air speed of 618.47 km/h
(Yes I know, no plane can reach such speed anyway due to some cap)
Here’s the gold order C7, simply a max star C7.
My question is: Why does a max star plane, supposed to have +10% engine power, having LESS total air speed (605.42km/h) than a stock model? It does have better climb speed and turning rate, yet goes slower?
I’m a “noob” with planes.
@114857834 you’re one of the most knowledgeable Moscow pilots I know of, and told me you love the C7, so why is that? (also, any reason to use the F-2? )

the stat card is kinda scuffed, you dont actually lose speed, but you dont really gain much either. only thing you might notice a differance in is climbrate and acceleration. with heavy emphasis on might because its really hard to notice the small differance on those aswell, unless you try very hard to find them
upgrading planes in general is just a waste of orders ATM, hope they do something about that in the future. (NOTE: some low climbrate planes, like stuka and IL, can actually gain alot from the engine upgrades, but i am hesitant to call it worth it)
i do own the green bf 110 though because i think it looks cool 
(and i also upgraded the regular one with silvers before i knew it wasnt worth it

i could write some detailed wall of text here but its late so ill give you some bullet points
(the bf 110 F-2 is the same plane so it isnt considered here)
- fastest CAS in moscow, making runs have very little time inbetween
- only moscow axis plane with guns good enough to kill soviet planes in under 30 minutes
- able to dogfight any attacker plane (even IL-2), and guns delete biplanes
- speed makes it so that you can outrun planes behind you, and you can catch up to planes from behind
- takes fighter slot (110 stuka combo is based)
i have no idea what a C10 is

The “empty mass” you get from the second upgrade is less extra mass and more parasite drag which slows the plane down. However, that extra drag makes the plane climb better and turns better.

oh yeah no lol.
its the same plane, but i have heard it takes the attacker slot (havent confirmed it myself but i am pretty sure its true), which imo makes it alot worse
if you have extra slots, maybe it would be nice to have in case you get shot down in the C-7. but thats about the only reason i can think of

I like to vary my assets… The Ju 87 R-2 just seems more useful as pure attacker (t-50 buster)… I like having the Ju AND the C7, but a c7 and a F-2 just seems redundant in that case…
Yeah last updates unlocks are really meh for Axis. Using the Kiraly, super fun! But not certain if it’s that much better than the mp35 at mid range. (Up close, Kiraly all the way)

basically you’ll get better climb rate and acceleration. I believe due to construction strength some modules get more hp or damage resistance too. your turning rate will also increase but mileage will vary
the il2m, fully upgraded, turns extremely well. a20 also handles far better when maxed however i know you speak generally and they are my only maxed planes so you may still be right. it’s probably better to max planes than don’t perform well/
no it isn’t, drag force isn’t dependent on mass. drag won’t make you climb faster either since it’ll resist the vertical acceleration of the enitre plane from above. extra mass it won’t make you go down faster, either.

Also, that top speed in stats, you can’t reach it on normal horizontal fly.
It’s the same on all planes, that 5%empty mass gain. But you still gonna get a better plane overall.
Does accelerate faster
Climb faster and most times with better turn speed per second.
Just don’t look at a Stat you can’t reach.
Top speed in any vehicle is a lie in this game.
Tested, verified, answered and what ever multiple times befor.
Upgrade all the vehicles if you can. Even if marginal gains, they are better.
Also, befor some one asks, some skin vehicles from batlepass loose a star, they are exacly the same, besides the pz4 iv70 on Berlin that actually looses the side skirts that actually have coded armor into them.

Simple, dont watch stat, i dont have to remind you in enlisted veichle stats are a joke, if you want really compare a plane or tank you need drive them
There is no point in the stats, the main thing is that this thing reaches the point and calmly crashes into the ground.
Missles are more profitable than planes.
My answer was a very dumbed down answer, but it is correct to a certain degree although I did gat my terms confused. It would be induced drag in this case. There are many things that can be done to a plane which causes drag to increase, but increases manoverability such as adjusting the shape of the wing, which I would expect structural modification to do to a plane to some degree.
