I think we can all recognize the problem as I will describe now:
We all spawn in squads on the battlefield ready for battle, but suddenly a plane shoots his rockets or bombs the spawn.
You lost a squad and the plane got 16 kills for just bombing the spawn in the beginning of the battle.
My idea even I don’t Like it too but it has to come: maybe a 1 minute or 30 sec after the battle starts we can spawn in tanks/planes.
This is very bad due to alphabetical spawn priority, and people just purposefully delaying their spawn, or suiciding instantly, to get the plane, as those would be the only methods to get it if this was to be implemented in this way.
That said, I do agree something needs to be done about this, so I’d rather have the following:
Just move the first spawn back by a km or 2-3, so they have to fly a bit further before they arive.
A easy fix: a strong spawn protection. Especially strong on using the default spawn points. The official spawn points should be design extremely safe in all FPS games. Either by a physical Invincible area, or an Invincible time period. (Now we do have a Invincible time period, but may not enough as you mentioned situations.)

If they want to waste their own time that’s on them. Either way they’re making it worse on everyone else, it’s just less of an impact and less likely with the delay.
Honestly? I play mostly tanks and planes, I don’t really enjoy infantry in the game right now (except of my OP premium Squad of course XD)
I think there are better options to fix the spawn issue with planes and I see no reason to nerf spawn time for tanks.
What about just putting the plane spawn farther away than the battlefield? Put the “getting new ammunition station” close and the spawn far away.
I honestly don’t see any reason to nerf tanks spawn they are super important in the game for the first push (and every push) to counter enemy MG nests and sand bags.
Then there will be a massive discussion related to AI-controlled airfield AA.
Not to mention the amount of time needed to rearm on such an airfield, the match will be over by the time you are going for your third attack run.
And of course the difficulty of actually landing a plane with only pilot view.
However, time is my biggest concern as well. I guess it would be motivation to stick around and go for strafing runs rather than relying entirely on explosives, but strafing needs to be viable first.
Maybe just have it so if you select the Plane for spawn then that player doesn’t spawn until the timer is up. They would be taking that slot this would deter people from suiciding right away to get the plane as the slot will already be taken.
There is an alphabetical priority. Meaning that if two players try to spawn at the same time, the one with a higher priority will spawn, aka a player with a name starting with “A” will spawn before the player with the name starting with “B”. If you make the player wait in main menu, you open this up to be abused.
is there no way to have it so when the player selects the plane then it is greyed out and not able to be selected by others. If the plane guy waiting would hold up players with later lettered names from spawning then the alphabetical thing sounds like a bad system.
Moving the spawn back as you said would accomplish the same thing I guess. Something just needs to be done because seeing 15-20 kill rocket strikes by bf110 is getting old.
