Der Russe kennt halt nur den Holzhammer beim beheben. Und dann wird mit dem Holzhammer generft.

Sniper tanks sitting out of the play area need to get punished, and therefore, bombs falling next to them are guaranteed kills (this was not the case even before with 50kg bombs doing nothing even to terrible tanks with paper armor such as t26 and bt-7)
-
Infantry in the open, on flat terrain need to get punished. Because mortar teams sitting in the back sniping are disgustingly unbalanced, and idiotic teams which do not build a single rallypoint during the entire game and run from objective to objective in a straight line, with absolutely no cover need to learn to stop doing that.
It is game balance 101. Play stupid games (do not flank, do not use cover, do not shorten running around by building rally points), win stupid prizes (bombs wipe you out). Meanwhile, good player are completely immune to bombs because: they avoid obvious routes (so not a single bombs falls anywhere near them), they use cover when standing still (capturing an objective or whatever).
I don’t think tanks should be able to bounce off 50kg bombs. I dropped four 50kg bombs on the T-50 and failed to destroy it.The only time the 50kg bomb can destroy the tank is when the driver drives the tank on top of the bomb.LOL.I saw the above with my own eyes.
Now the tank can hide in the rear area and kill soldiers unscrupulously without much means to deal with it.
- Bombs should be buffed in order to be devastating to tanks and infantry in the open, and they should have their proper explosion radius. Even if they stick in the ground, they were still devastating. The argument used for the nerf makes no sense. It was just a reduction in damage and radius to the point where 50kg and 100 kg bombs have the explosion power of hand grenades, and 250kg bombs are weaker than rockets.
Currently, players who refuse to build rally points and run in the open, and do not bother with any of the cover mechanics (sandbags and buildings) and run like headless chicken from objective to objective can no longer be punished. In the absence of bomb threats, Invasion maps have turned into mass rushes from point to point. This is the new meta: rush rush rush, do not stop to build anything, do not bother flanking.
Weak bombers cater to bad players, and cheesy, brainless play stile. More powerful bombs won’t frustrate good players and good play anymore, even if they are stronger thanks to several aspects: going prone reduces damage, bombs are being marked like grenades, cover makes you virtually immune to explosions from bombs.
Rockets are currently overpowered compared to bombs since they have not been affected by this nerf. This causes serious game unbalance for the side which has better attackers with powerful rockets.
- If bombs will remain as anemic as they are now, at least give pilots the ability to spot the ground troops via markers (as they are available for planes). Tanks will be spotted from loner ranges, while infantry from shorter ranges.
The main issue is that the meta of the game is speed. Units either have to be quick to get to a contested area or, if they are slow (planes), they need to have a high impact. Otherwise, those units serve no purpose, because being unable to answer to a situation quickly or with devastating firepower means losing the objective, and the game.
The way things are currently, it won’t be long until most players will figure out attacker units armed with bombs (bombers) are a waste of space because they are slow and unable to have a meaningful impact on the battle, and they will join squads like radiomen, mortars and pure fighters (with no rockets and no bombs) to the list of units no one ever uses. And soon enough, players will have an issue with the fact they are forced to have pointless vehicles in their lineups, instead of another good infantry unit.
By next week, except some curious new players, most veterans will stick only to big 500kg bombs or rocket planes. Fighters are even more so a joke than they were before. Thanks to the really bad damage model, I got pilot sniped from the ground by bots in several games while trying to kill a bomber. It is ridiculous.
Finally, this is a bomb run from Hell let lose. No one complains about how devastating bombs are in that game. Because they should be.
In this sense, on top of buffing the explosion radius and damage to bombs (while keeping the mechanic where going prone and cover reduces or eliminates explosion damage), planes should have their engine sound increased so that players can tell well ahead of time when a bomber approaches so they can take cover.
Additionally, reload and spawning spots for bombers should be placed further from the battlefield, while fighter reload spots (ammo only) and spawns should be placed closer to the battlefield. This way, bombing runs would happen less often (while punishing anyone caught in the open), and fighters would be in a much better position to react and intercept bombers.
Fighters can reload bombs or rockets from bomber spawn points (the fighter reload spots would only reload gun ammo).
Yes they did. Thats happened when devs buffed planes and allowed extreme bad players get easy kills by just pressing space bar. Good that devs fixed it
Ofcourse those extremely bad players aka pilots will cry how they cant get any kills but thats good and healty for game
Hopefully devs will buff aa cause those bad players who just fly straight line should be punished
Or add limit how many planes one player can use in one battle
Is AA still bad? I haven’t played with it yet but it seems that 20mm canon (so the same caliber) on Bf109 is qiute good at killing planes.
My perspective is that I haven’t noticed much different to be honest. Squads are still getting killed inside of buildings while prone to plane spam …
You do realize that’s a commander call in right? That requires points and has a massive cool down. Where in this game does planes have massive cooldowns?
Tbh i didnt test AA after latest patch. But devs could still buff it just make those bad pilots cry even more
Here is my take. I’m not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but this is definitely my perspective.

I think the changes are great from a ground perspective. Ground fighting is much more interesting, more skill based. Some maps are really effected by the bomb nerf. Tanks are much more resilient now.
-
Since the change I have been playing substantially less. Though I was one of the ones that hated the wipeout aspect of the bombs, the game is not holding my interest as it did before the change.
I’m not sure why, as the change didn’t really bother me that much. Rockets are still murderous. Bombs can still rack up substantial kills on certain maps.
I played every day for 45 days straight…then the changes and I haven’t played for a week.
Again, not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but it definitely seems to feel…off somehow.
Crying after having literal months of killed 300 people per match with ease. imagine that.
Killed a Stuart today with 50 kg bomb and some squads around it - Good kill. Can’t complain and I like the change. Takes more skill now and that’s exactly what I like. Before this any average and below average player could get a lot of kills by just pressing space bar like @24629012 said.
AA vs infantry is already too powerful as it is, and it is probably the next thing on the chopping block for a well deserved nerf. The issue is with the damage model of planes.
Can you be anymore puerile than that? You accuse me of crying (even though, it is clear from the quote that is not the case) to then unironically cry about getting killed by bombers.
No one said that the overpowered crap in normandy was ok. Which still continues thanks to rockets not getting any nerfs. Everywhere else planes were fine. Unless you are one of those who run in a straight line and never build a rally point, it is no wonder you get upset about planes. Here’s a tip, you had the option to get in a fighter and take them out.
Copy my reply in another post:
After the bomb was weakened, the p47 became the strongest attack aircraft because it had 10 powerful HVAR rockets. As for the 500-pound bomb, it is now difficult for me to use it to kill anyone and vehicles. In one round, I threw bombs into the woods many times, but I still couldn’t destroy a PUMA and infantry in the woods. I don’t know why, maybe every tree has a protective effect?By the way, the enemy in that round had a JU188. It dropped bombs three times, but failed to kill more than 10 people. It may be the era of rockets now (not including M8 rockets)
In addition, the Soviet aircraft has become the biggest victim. Even if the current 100kg bomb hits the German tank directly, as long as the German tank moves, it won’t be damaged.
cry harder
Yea, I think I might know the issue here. There is less chaos on the ground.
I notice this when I play lone fighter mode. Less planes, less hectic. It’s nice to play, but I go back to squad because it is brutal. You are knee deep in utter chaos constantly.
I think that is what I miss. The utter chaos that came from constant bombings.
I don’t think it should be the way it was…it was crazy easy to rack up kills in a bomber. But something should take it’s place to keep up the volume of explosions and chaos on the screen, even if it doesn’t kill as much as it used to.
Perhaps a random artillery barrage, or bombing run that is done by the AI so noone gets credit, something to keep the tension level high without allowing players to rack up crazy kill numbers.
I think we should still die just as much as we did before, I just think it shouldn’t be credited to player actions.
Maybe random minefields? Just some ideas.
Very mature of you. Big brain replies. Not at all idiotic and childish.
After some tests, I can say without any doubt that going prone (and most of the squad does the same) right next to a bomb, including 500kg ones makes you immune to any bomb effects. No damage, no headshake.
While in a tank, all you have to do once you see the bomb icon is slightly go forward or backward to avoid taking any damage, as if you were running from grenades.
You can have the most accurate drops, right on top of tanks or infantry and kill nothing. All they have to do is go prone or move a tony bit away from the bomb icon. This is not game balance. This is stupid.
