So devs mentions they will have customization options for uniforms, cool but will SS divisions have Wehrmacht clothes due to infrigments in germany? or will/can they be authentic? as of now 33rd Div “charlemagne” and 11 th Div “Nordland” have Wehrmacht uniforms.
and back in may there was a squad of gunners with full pea dot winter weather jackets and trousers, some times i still see ppl using them but i don’t see them in campaign. have they been removed? what unit where they?
thanks!
These uniforms are already in the game, 12th Panzer Regiment Normandy campaign (Premium Squad).
No runes and no original division sign,
and this is ok…
I would guess that SS uniforms/camos would be in game but no SS div/uniforms insignias. Also the issue with SS symbols etc isnt Germany anymore, but other countries like Russia where those things are banned
I think pretending things didn’t exist or historical revisionism in general does more harm than good. We should acknowledge all the good and all the bad that has happened in our time here on our earth.
In reality, normal infantry would not wear any emblems on pea dot uniforms, but i really hope they would add m43 field uniforms and the SS camo smock hopefully they will just leave the “scary emblem” out of the game not whole uniforms.
Uniforms aren’t banned, only certain symbols are. And even that isn’t the case any more (in Germany at least) because games have been officialy recongnized as a form of art a while ago (previously they were classified as toys) and art may depict such things. For example, movies have always shown the swastika and other stuff.
Yay, progress!
It just seems, that developers either haven’t heard the news, or don’t want to take any chances.
I think the main legal issue with SS and Swastikas is Russia rn. Also they may afraid of potatoes coming out and calling them nazi-sympathisers and other ludicrous shit if they add them. But imo the main issue is the legal one in Russia
not only that, but i think Russia in general is a big market for those type of games, so from a company’s perspective it makes sense to take no risk for this insignia issue
Maybe they could just put // insignia on the collar tab. At least the Lego Indiana Jones games got away with it, and it looks close enough from across the room so everyone would be happy.
