Judging by the current poor performance of the artillery Luger (Axis GO weapon) additional pistol caliber carbines wouldn’t be very popular.
Perhaps if they had low br and could be equipped by engineers/other specialist (maybe tankers) than a semi-auto gun even with low damage could do well against bolt actions in cqc but lack the range of rifles.

i love the artillery Luger, 1 only have one i think the trouble is its a gold order weapon, its a good close to medium range weapon, if they gave us duel wielding it could make a good choice increasing ammo and fire power at the expense of increasing reload time,
