Pistols in WW2 where usually used one handed not two handed. The two handed use is significantly more modern.

My grandfather used two hands with his Luger (which I have). But yes many used just one hand and it was even instructed so in the books of the armies. Anyhow: it’s a choice people made on the battlefield
