While fighting another plane, i managed to shoot it down but while it was falling, its pilot jumped out of the plane and killed himself when he fell to the ground since there are no parachutes. Shouldn’t i get the kill? I mean i am the one that shoots the plane down in the first place. Suggestion, remove the ability to leave the plane, it is useless right now you can’t repair it (from what i know) nor is there a parachute. Alternately while the plane is falling down the pilot should take damage over time so even if he/she jumped out of the plane we can still get the kill.
Agreed you should get credit for 1 dead pilot …

It is a possibility for pilot to survive if you manage to crash your plane in some water in game area, So it is only 99% pointless. I even managed to survive crash like that once, pick up some mosin and kill couple enemy soldier. Instead of removing option to leave the plane there should be parachutes for pilot, like we are suggesting from the start of CAT.

I’ve also survived freak crashes and saw other planes I’ve shot down wind up with a soft landing and survive (off of the map)

i also would love to see parachutes as a game mechanic. primarily because if a plane is severly damaged (e.g. wing cut loose by a flak shell or because of an enemy plane shooting you), you would increase pilot survivability.
secondarily with the use of paratroopers either spawning only as the first wave of a match or dropping in on specific corridors where the planes dropping the paratroopers pass by at regular intervals and can be intercepted by pilots and flak. i think it creates a bit to threedimensional combat and a greater focus on air to air and ground to air combat.
actually i was very disappointed when i saw the pilot clearly wearing a parachute in the sprite but not having one ingame when i bailed out and plummeted to the ground.

Why bother? You lose nothing much by suiciding, and walking back to he battlefield wil probably take most of the game anyway… even if you don’t just get killed by landing outside hte battlefield area.
Just get on with another squad!
I personally don’t like that idea. Paratroopers were not thrown out of the plane to the center of the fight. That would be suicide for them. They were jumping far behind enemy lines, not on to battlefields.
So paratrooper units already on the ground (in the battles they really participated) - sure, why not. I would rather się that instead of every Wehrmacht soldier wielding FG42.
Jumping from the plane over a battlefield as a paratrooper, not pilot trying to save himself from the crashing plane - big no from me.
