Personal thoughts regarding leadstorm

While a lot of people are ragging on the event, my personal thoughts are that the primary issue is the first two weapons. A lot of the weapons are close quarters focused, while the sword pistol is mainly used as just a melee weapon requiring you to get incredibly close, while the suppressed mosin is more medium range and doesn’t fit well within the lineup. Once someone gets past the mosin they get way ahead of the rest of the pack due to the sudden power increase of a full auto weapon. This means that if you are too slow getting to or past the mosin you’re in a worse position due to not being able to hold your own in most close quarters areas. I would suggest either moving the mosin far later into the progression, as a sort of catch up time for other players, or give a unique spin to the mosin, such as allowing them to place an anti personelle mine for area control or alternative kills. Additionally, the arenas themselves are underwhelming due to the severe verticality of most of them. Three, four, or five floors means you’re constantly required to check three dimensions and gives an advantage to anyone who just squats on a roof overlooking the major combat area. This is less common in steel mill but still present, overwhelming on the Japan map, annoying on the Tunisia map, a massive pain on the chateau map, and why I consider the Rzhev map the best, due to only having two stories. I would say a 1-2 floor maximum with perhaps some trenches is the sweet spot for this, with more cover included. Another thing I would suggest is returning to the previous gun game format of allowing us to have teams, as currently not only is the FFA leading to a horrible quantity of spawn camping, it is also instantly gating any and all communication with other players in the lobby. Finally, having the weapons that the event added on all three of the final levels is a kick in the nuts to any player wanting to try them in the event, but not consistently going full sweat mode or getting lucky. Overall I feel the event has quite a few areas where it could be improved upon.

You are right, but according to CMs DF can’t change these on the go so Im afraid that we are stuck with this terrible progression until the end of the event.

Im pretty sure that the people that made this event did not play it themselves and maybe no one tested this at all.
Its weird how guns get better and better than suddenly get worse with the last 2/3 guys.

IMO RD-44 → Thompson 1921AC → MG42 → flamethrower → MAS38 → space mosin → shotgun → silenced mosin → pirate → rocket launcher → swordpistol → winchester 1866 → pot pot man.

This progression would have gone from strong to weak while staying unique.

But what I hate the most is how luck based this event is, you can die 3 times due to spawning in front of someone.
You can also lose to people with less skill if you are unlucky and just can’t run into someone to kill.

Yeah, honestly, what where they thinking when they expect you to use the M9 bazooka to kill enemies? i mean, there was an update many months ago that they buffed slightly the explosion of bazookas to be used on infantry but still, the M9 bazooka (or any other anti-tank launchers with the exception of the anti-tank rifles like the ptrs 41) was not made to be used on infantry, now for my second complain is the blunderbuss, oh my god, how they screwed up so terribly that thing? most of the bullets scatter alot and don’t let me get started on throwing the blunderbuss which is super rare to get a kill via throwing the gun, now the “plasma gun” is also an mystery just like the M9 bazooka, if the enemy gets way to close to you there is nothing you can do to kill it with the plasma gun, and finally about the spawn kill type thing, i think the game should give you like 3-4 seconds of invulnerability but also unable to shoot back during the invicibility but also give you time to move out of the heated scene fast.

that’s my honest opinion about the leadstorm event.

Worst part of the match is when all of the scrubs are stuck on the flamethrower…

I resemble that! Had my 1st match today - not my cup of tea - won’t be bothering again.

I quit playing when I found out my Allies were taking it up the butt in their w/l % on ever event defeat, even though they were not playing. Big deal? Probably not in the grand scope, but irritating DF would do this.
