It’s no surprise that the new update does not make unanimity, this was discussed enough time already since yesterday. The removal of the random soldiers “gacha”, and the time demanding academy, are GOOD things.
What shines less however is the removal of the perk reroll points. There’s really no advantage (for players) in this removal and causes some problems:
- it’s now more grindy to obtain desired perks
- much more time consuming
- because of the first 2 points, experimentation with perks is now really not an option.
So here’s the suggestion part, there’s two viable options:
- reinstate the accumulation of perk reroll points, those allowed to have the perks we wanted, and even experiment with different builds.
- keep the present system, but allow us to CHOSE our perks from a complete list (depending on how many stats avaible) and remove the random 3 perks thing.
Now the tip part!
For newer players especially, I recommend being patient with perks. We know that the best perks, those ppl really want and need, cost more stat points, that’s a given. We also know the only way to reroll perks is to lose precious lvls that equal a lot of time.
So, instead of choosing perks AS SOON as a new star is unlocked… WAIT! Wait for your soldier being rank 5! Doing this, you will have 5 chances to obtain the best perks instead of just 1 (or even none if prior perks took too many stats points) playing with a soldier without perks for a short time is better than wasting an indefinite time losing a lvl, trying your luck, losing a lvl… that with the fact lvling your fifth star costs 12k something xp, it could take a while.
If you don’t get the perk you want on your first try (wich is very likely) then choose the perk that costs THE LESS stat points amongst the 3 offered, or one that you know you will use. This will let you the necessary amount of stat points to luckily get the wanted perk on your next 4 remaining tries.
Patience is a virtue, gentlemen. Doing this will help endure that shitty perk reroll system designed to grab money from you, until something better is implemented.
