Performance Degradation After Recent Updates

I used to be a smooth 75 FPS player, but recent updates have made it impossible for my PC to maintain a stable 60 FPS. The game now suffers from severe memory leaks—I can play a few matches fine, then suddenly the next one becomes a stuttering mess, forcing a restart.

This isn’t isolated. My squadmates (playing on powerful laptops) report the same: after the updates, their previously stable Low/Medium settings now struggle to hit 60 FPS. One friend, a consistent top scorer, quit because even all-Low settings became unplayable.

My specs:

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 3800X
  • GPU: RTX 2070 Super
  • RAM: 16GB

The game is slowly becoming unplayable due to optimization issues, not hardware limits. I’m now forced to consider upgrading just to maintain performance—this wasn’t a problem before.

Additional context: I play from China, where high ping was already a challenge. Now, performance issues overshadow even that.

Question: Are the devs aware of these optimization/memory leak problems? Any fixes planned?

New reworked Berlin Seelow Heights and some Normandy/Pacific maps drop my framerate like crazy i bet it’s because of foliage and shadows that the cast, DF forget to optimize them, they just spammed them around the map without thinking about the performance.

Somehow my trusty GTX 1650 laptop still plays the exact same as beforehand. Maybe just because my frames are already that low they can’t drop any lower.

Yes
There is some new performance issue even on MajorMcDonalds’s stream

I have the same problem, it’s become difficult for me to play on maps that I normally have bad framerates on (Pacific Ocean and that Normandy Railroad map), but these problems are nothing new to me, I play with 600 ping most of the time, so FPS can’t stop me.

I am also forced to play with bare minimum when i used to play with normal. Maps like pacific and ardennes seem to be the worst for me

One thing I did notice is that - at least for me - the “glass/ice rivers” (i.e. the rivers do not flow but are static and look like they are made of glass or ice) have made a return on the Pacific maps (this bug was fixed quite a while back but now it seems to be back).

before update: ultra setting + dlss = 104-6 fps-------------------after update high setting+ dlss( performance)= 60-70 fps and i locked it to 60 bcoz of sudden fps drops,

idk its my hardware or bcoz of new update

YES, THANK YOU. I was having doubts about posting this last night, but hey! Exactly the same here, exactly those maps. I was even wondering to ask last night: Is it the foliage/shadow/water issue on some maps?

You got it bullseye! That’s the same issue for me…

Bro, you need better gear then… for sure… and not sure where you are but some game vpn too… sending my condolences. No wonder you so active on the forum, while your games are rendered in early 20th century format :v::heart:

Well I can still play, here are some of my games this week: (unfortunately I didn’t take screenshots of all of them)

Nice :hugs:,

What is your screen size in inches? Or I should rather ask resolution and general specs if you don’t mind? And why is your ping that high? Are you playing from Antarctica?

I’m playing at 1600*900 in Enlisted because after the update the FPS became really bad.(Don’t worry about the size of the screenshots, I always crop them)
GTX 1050TI, I7 9700K and 16GB RAM.
Iran’s internet is very bad, the speed is very low (about one MB per second), and the ping is very high.
Before the update, I was easily getting 60 fps on high settings, but after the update, everything got worse.

Most likely yes, i first noticed massive framerate drops when i was playing new reworked Seelow Heights. Those new added hilly bushy areas drop my framerate by more than half. Tunisia and Stalingrad still runs the best up to 200fps while that part of Berlin drops to 70-80fps. Normady and Bulge is a lottery but i know for sure that Bulge map has a lot of unoptimized spots where my framerate drops by 30%. Manchuria is also pretty unoptimized it may be the 2nd worst offender but i rarely play it so i may misremember my framerate.
