Okay So I’ve found a good way to implement special ammo like the 7.62x54R ShKAS API rounds for Mosins and 7.62x25 P41 incendiary rounds for Submachine guns.
Introducing the Assaulter 4, Rifleman 4, and Sniper 4.
For balance you can only have 1 of each in a squad so you dont have 4 incendiary PPSh-41s wiping out entire capture points with ease.
And for example the P41 incendiary rounds for the PPSh-41 can only be equiped on the Assaulter 4 and they hopefully wont be separate weapons and only an ammo swap.
I’ve just realized the Germs didn’t have 9x19mm incendiary oh well i guess the dont get a incendiary submachine gun, but They have 7.92x57 explosive rounds for thir MG-42 and Kar98k…
If we are trying to balance Germans against Russians, give the Germans bolt actions reverse bullets, what was used in WW1. Effectively acts like a flat nose soft point/hollow point blowing baseball sized exit holes through the enemy.
Interesting topic to implement different types of ammunition ( just like (8x57 S.m.K.h.(tungsten core),B-Patrone (explosive) and so on.
Giving explove ammo to soviet smgs (only) is balancewise a catastrophe, which are atm the last weapon class, that needs a buff.
I think the best way, well one way, to alowe for special ammo for tank planes and even troops would be spend a token amount of gold for a donate amount of it per life.
So if you had a PIIIN in Tunisia you could spend day one gold for 5 rounds if it, but when rearm in game you just get the normal ammo.
This would only work if you could have more than two types of ammo
It would also be best if you could reload with out having to fire the round already chambered
So for small arms same thing but in thee case they would need to start with I would thing the same type, idk if they could give you one clip of the speciality ammo and have the rest ball
For planes simply pay a token amount to select the ammo chain option you want from war thunder
