Interestingly enough, Enlisted actually severely tones down the effectiveness of HE compared to actual test results.
The Brits did a lot of testing on the Sherman’s 75mm and 76mm shells, mostly to prove their own thoughts that the 76mm HE was doodoo. And they came up with an approximated zone of lethality for the 75mm M48 (HE) shell of 2,900 square feet. Or a 54’ x 54’ zone. That’s more than half of a pro basketball court.
The 8.8cm Sprgr. L/4.5 (HE) shell that the Kwk 36 was throwing had about 50% more explosive filler (0.9kg) than the 75mm M48 did (0.6kg), so you can imagine how much larger that zone of lethality would be.
Imagine an Enlisted where 88mm HE killed or maimed everyone in a 60’ radius
and battlefields would be the size of elder scroll maps with tens if not hundreds of thousand of soldiers, given the size of the maps the explosions are too big. given the rate of fire, accuracy and speed of the game the explosions are too big. Sorry but given the state of the game with tanks and infantry tnt and dynamite need to stay as they are. a tank can easily kill tens of people shoot around a corner hit a spot behind you and kill the entire squad. but yeah interesting to learn how scarry war was and that any one survived. also tens of millions pf soldiers for tens of thousands of tanks making tanks outnumbered a few hundred to one.
