PC Controller support - Aim assist needs to be added into the options

Just preference, I enjoy playing with a controller more than I do with a mouse and keyboard.

Yeah, I agree snap locking is junk and unfair for everyone. Once they work out the kinks and can implement a good system then everyone will be happy.

This post was intended to bring light to an unfair advantage between controllers on consoles having aim assist and controllers on PC not having aim assist when they’re both utilizing the same settings.

For anyone who says “remove aim assist, it’s a crutch” are not helping the situation. It will literally put consoles players at a huge disadvantage. I personally think crossplay is amazing since player count will always remain stable as opposed to splitting them up between PC, Xbox and Playstation.

Np big guy, I’m just trying to shed light on the situation and I agree that the aim assist in this game does need some work.

Cheers,

Yes and no.
You could remove it and they’d have to pick up the slack. But most can’t so it stays.
:man_shrugging:

But I’m not advocating for it either.

It stays because it’s part of the system.

A mouse doesn’t need it because it’s much easier for someone to develop the muscle memory and gain positive control of a mouse.

A controller without aim assist on the other hand is junk and no one is having a good time

Well unless it’s different in PC you can turn off crossplay. I can’t crossplay with PC as it crashes the game, for some reason.

PC players don’t get the option at all.
We’ve tried once we found out the aim assist is snaplock instead of sticky.
None of us want to be part of some dude’s PVE adventure.

I just assumed you all could also turn off crossplay, that’s strange.

Ikr

PC players without aimbots have a fair fighting environment among each other.
Console players with aimbots have a fair fighting environment among each other.
If console players for some reason want a harder challenge, they might try the PC crossplay option, but aimbot is gone now.
There is no reason PC players should suddenly get console players with a different aiming system in their environment.

You have no idea how wrong and dumb you really are. I’m aware exactly how aim assist works, all types of it. Standard aimbot, smooth aim, silent aim, and several others you likely never heard of. All of these result in a ban if you use them on mouse+kb simply because they are seen as cheating.

IF we ever get Smooth aimbot for console users rather than the pure aimbot we have now, fine, don’t care, but as it is now, piss off. We should get an option to not play with console users entirely.

Read your own original post, that’s exactly what you are asking for. The “aim assist” from consoles to be given to PC users with a controller. And this aim assist is the worst kind of aimbot, the kind that snaps directly at you. Nobody wants to play with people that do that. If I do that on PC suddenly I’ll be banned for cheating, yet console trash is given legal aimbot.

Wrong, YOU don’t best people in this game, the aimbot software does. You just happened to exist and aim in the general direction of the enemy and snapped to their neck.

Then stop putting console players in with PC, we don’t want them, and they don’t want us.

It is.

GTA uses traditional aimbot
Halo, Warzone, and the majority of other FPS games use Smooth aim and Silent aim depending on the game. That doesn’t change the fact that at the end of the day, that is aimbotting software. Those are simply facts.

You seem to have no understanding of aimbotting software, don’t speak on topics you don’t know anything about.

I agree. I have no problem admitting that I was misinformed on the aim assist function already implemented in this game before I made this post and I corrected myself above stating the aim assist needs to be fixed ASAP if it wants to be implemented correctly. No one wants to play against a system that snaps onto the target and that’s not the aim assist function I had in mind when originally creating this post. I was more focused on the idea that they completely neglected to give PC controllers a form of aim assist which leads to the controller support on PC being obsolete.

This is what I meant when creating this post. An aim assist, not an aimbot. Sorry for coming off with the wrong approach. Maybe I should have looked into the game’s aim assist function before I created this post. Maybe you should have lead with this statement rather than your arrogant “Go buy a console” bs. We both look like assholes lol.

An option to let players opt out of crossplay is an option that should exist for cross platform 100%. Or maybe even an option to only match you to players using the same device. Controller vs controller and M+K vs M+K.

There’s varying degrees of aimbot that I’ve seen from just shooting at the hip and landing headshots across the map to a hard “lock on” style that stays on your target’s head. This shit is toxic for sure and ruins gameplay for everyone. But the proper implementation of an aim assist or smooth aim as you called it for controller users to help with consistent/precise aiming is not a bad thing and I think we can all agree on that.

Cheers, buddy

Apparently they could use keyboard + mouse too for a while, it was disabled less than a week ago.

Don’t worry, PC play is much easier just because mouse aiming is better than any aimbot and you can map much more useful things to keyboard. If you still encounter console players, it means they are either masochistic or simply don’t know how to turn crossplay off.

When crossplay was mandatory for a short time during CBT, the game was very frustrating for console players.

Having said all that, yes, of course PC players should have an option to disable PC-console crossplay, as we do.

Aim assist literally plays the game for you. There is no beating snap locking with a built in aimbot.

That’s because the vast majority of console players are trash at games and are only carried by said aim assist.

God bless you.

I’m not AGAINST aim assist as a whole, but the snap locking like in CoD campaigns on console needs to go.

Did you play the game on console or just figured it out by being a genius?

Out of courtesy I won’t tell you what many of us think about PC players.

Well, if you played the game on console against PC players, your opinion is invaluable. Thanks for sharing.

You can quite literally watch console gameplay and see the aim assist for yourself.
You can also watch them artificially snap to you in-game.
I’m really not exaggerating. After this match I’ll see if I can find the reddit link with it.

I couldn’t care less because 90% of it is absolute cope

No I’m on PC playing against both. Sticky aim/slowdown is needed, but the current snap lock is straight bullshit and needs gone.
An option for aim assist for PC controller users would be great too because some people play this from their couch.
Option to turn crossplay off on both PC and consoles is a must as well.

At least we can agree on something.
