Past research for people who have been playing pre campaign merge

Hello !

I have been playing this game with by brother for a few years now and to my surprise when we started playing again we lost access to many squads we had before . For example I have the BAR 1918A2 unlocked and the BAR 1918A2 and but for some reason not the BAR 1918 anymore which means I cant even additional machine gunner men to my squads because not even the lvl 1 unit is unlocked yet i have lvl 2 machine gunners in my squad already.

Do I really have to go back and grind out the start of the tech tree. Seems like a royal waste of time when I want to progress.

Because it was Pacific only unlock. (Or available as premium in Normandy campaign)

So if you haven’t played Pacific, that would be the reason.
