Partisans campaign!

Hello people.
I had a little suggestion that maybe could change the game and make it even more interesting and historically better.
My suggestion was to add the Tito’s partisans against the germans as a new campaign.
But why?
Tito’s partisans were the most important resistance people’s army (AVNOJ) in the Balkans, they were 800.000 in 1945, they went not only to free Jugoslavija but also Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Hungary, Spain and some cities in Greece and Italy, they were all commanded by Stalin but Tito had the job from Stalin to free the Balkans.
So maybe adding the Partisans (AVNOJ) against probably the Germans/Cetniks/Italians/Croatians like the real history would be amazing because as a people’s army it was really effective in some battles.
For this suggestion i watched since i was a kid movies in Jugoslavija like “Battle of neretva”, those were our movies and when i rewatched them i really had this idea to suggest, what do you think?

but i would be happy if my suggestion arrives to some developers.
That can make me real happy anyway.

Back to the topic:
The idea is not that bad - USSR and US could get a partisan unit, but equiped with BR1-2 weapons only. The outfit - or “uniform” - could be very interesting.

I know Brits gave weapons to the French resistance and helped them a lot with intel (in exchange of intel the resistance collected). We could have French “civilians” (militia?) equipped with a mix of Sten, Lee Enfields, French rifles like Mas and of course captured axis weaponry.

Same thing with russian partisans. Mix of captured axis weaponry and soviet weaponry.

The mix match of everything whould make really interesting squads.

And for those who kept pestering about it, there could be a woman or two in both squads.

Let’s just say, i had in my mind a new campaign, not new squad, a campaign only in Jugoslavija, with battles like “battle for belgrade” or neretva or Tito’s cave and these things.
Because adding just squads is boring, i want to be realistic, a new campaign could be innovative.
Just watch some movies or scenes from movies like “Most, partizanski film”, “battle of neretva”, “battle of sutjeska”.
That could be really really cool!

We are just trying to be realistic… they won’t create new campaigns with only partisans. Because they would need to be a faction…

And they have even LESS interesting equipment than a possible chinese faction because all they used was either captured or given. No tanks really either.

Squads, maybe event ones on the other hand, is quite possible.

I am honest: Far too much and not suitable for this game.
DF could still do two partisan units (one polish or russian for USSR and one french for US/GB).
As Conscript_Joe already said: Equiped with mosins/enfields or captured axis weapons (example: MP40 with lesser accuracy or rof because of a bad shape).

i think it would be cool anyway, because this is a WW2 game so it would be cool seeing a partisan campaign, better in Jugoslavija because they still managed to capture some tanks and artilleries.
Maybe im just saying non sense things.

Not a campaign.
Btw: Enlisted does not have campaigns.

The idea for two event units is fairly okay and interesting.

Oh don’t misunderstand. It’s not that it wouldn’t be cool or unrealistic, it’s just it wouldn’t work with current Enlisted format.

There’s no “campaign” anymore. Only factions… and a partisan or French resistance only faction… couldn’t possibly ever be balanced against a full military axis faction and all their tools…

Partisans or resistance mostly only ever did guerilla tactics for a reason

We DO WANT event squads (or premium?) About them thought. That’d be really cool.

If I can use Moroccan warriors in bathrobes, I don’t see why I could not use civilians resistance.

Note:
The premium Volks squad armed with lebel is exactly that, civilians.

Thank you for your post.

As it happens I’ve been advocating for a Balkans campaign/maps for a long time now. Specifically Greece, Yugoslavia and Crete.

I read a book called Partisans, I think it was Alistair Maclean about Yugoslavia and obviously partisans so that got me interested in the countries of Yugoslavia generally.

I’ve also read two books about British commandos/intelligence operatives in this theatre including specifically Yugoslavia. One I forget the name of, the other is a autobiography by W. Stanley Moss.
Moss was the man responsible for the capture of the German general made famous in the film Il Met by Moonlight.

Regarding Enlisted I believe this could work:

Greece, Yugoslavia and Crete maps (you know a lot more about Yugoslavian battles than I do).

Crete could probably be covered in one map with a mountainous area, a village, vineyard and port with a German HQ. The German HQ could be an objective in reflection of the capture of the German general.

All these maps would be very different to existing ones and add variety to the game as well as recognition for a forgotten theatre.

As an Australian I’d be very happy to see a Greek campaign with Australian, New Zealand, British and potentially Greek squads.

Note when I use the word campaign I just mean maps and tech/squads not ‘campaign’ in the pre merge definition of the word.

Previously Ive suggested separating the UK from USA and adding the Commonwealth. That would allow for much needed Commonwealth squads and as Ive said also maybe some Greek uniforms and weapons as well as Free Polish and Free Czech (amongst others).

So Im thinking Greece/Yugoslavia/Crete maps and British/Commonwealth VS Germans-Italians.

Now regarding partisans. I’m guessing theyd have to be premium/event squads. Previously Ive suggested local (i.e Greek, Cretan,Yugoslavian) resistance fighters with British commandos as well. Im not sure how partisans could be added as ‘regular’ squads.

Theoretically one could have Tito’s army as a sub faction of USSR but that would cause issues with regular Soviet squads fighting alongside Western Allies which didnt happen (except freed Soviet POWs fighting with British commandos and Resistance fighters).

The only other way would be if there were formal armies of pro-Allied countries then maybe these could be added as uniforms for UK-Commonwealth tree?

Pro-Axis nations could have squads or premium squads or just uniforms in I would suggest a separate Italy + Other Axis Nations faction.
