Paratroopers

Say this squad spawns in an airplane that you have to fly to your intended drop zone.
This plane can be shot down by other planes.
Once over the drop zone all team jumps out off the plane into a parachute gang that will land behind enemy lines (or anywhere you want).
While parashuting they can be shot at by enemies so plan your risk Vs reward.

This would add tactical options on battlefield while involving new risks and rewards.

On a pure cinematic perspective, this would look insanely bad ass.

What say you guys?

well I suppose that would give something to do for figher planes other than kamikaze.
And also make the paratroopers somewhat useless other than being targets.

Greyzone & map design generally limits quite alot the usefulnes of paratroopers.
You can do the same “flank” maneuver rather easily just by avoiding middle part of map.

Considering how easy its to shoot in this game, id imagine you die in air 9/10 times.

Not exactly against the idea, just in current form I cant see any reason to add them.

Good idea, but current map is too small for paratroopers actually work.

I’d like to see paras in game (mostly because of cinematic aspect) but they don’t fit here at all.
In invasion playable area is maybe 150-200m deep, it’s nothing. You would be either on the enemy spawn on on your spawn, both not worth the effort.
Additionally in 10/10 scenarios rally point will be better.

The main issue, is WW2 parashutes are not controlable, it was designed to get man on ground safely, there is no way to manouver the chute. so you would just have a long “cutscene” of doing nothing until you hit the ground.

MoH airborne tried this where the allies would parachute in upon respawn, and most of the time, you’d be killed before you hit the ground. Heck, there was even an achiement to kill someone with a grenade while they were still parachuting

I´ve been thinking about this idea too. A few days ago, playing Tunisia, I managed to parachute my Stuka pilot on the roof of the objective and had a lot of fun killing all the enemies inside the building.
Maybe marking a point in the map (like artillery) and then having an animation of the squad jumping off the plane.
I would add a wind direction arrow in the map that the player should consider before marking the jump point to avoid being blown away from the target by the wind.
