Paratroopers need so many nerfs, its incredible

There is a reason why we see them becoming more and more popular, they are completely OP and people start figuring this out.

Not only do they not need a Rally,
not only do they have the best flexibility in terms of gear,
not only do they have extra HP,

no no no, they can spawn where ever the heck they want on the entire map, by calling in an almost invisible plane that spawns in out of thin air, and they drop above render distance, AND the entire squad lands perfectly on one single spot.

Paratroopers completely destroy the core of the game, by bypassing the hard labour of fighting your way to the objective - they don’t do anything, they just spawn where other squads need to fight for - for free, while still being absolute META squads.

My god, they need so many nerfs in order to justify their “spawn where ever you want” mechanic.

I think paratroopers can easily be balanced by just increasing their plane time. And maybe add a marker and lead indicator to the plane as well.
Maybe even have the announcer say something like “transport plane inbound”?

But other than that paratroopers are fine. Landing everywhere they want is their entire point.

so first, why do they land all so closed up with pin point accuracy?
their drop zone should be scattered around 50 Meters.

then they shouldn’t be allowed to spawn directly on top of the main objective. Fighting your way to the objective, pushing the frontline is the core of the game, every meter counts, Paratroopers completely skip this.

also why do they have Engineers? They shouldn’t be allowed to build Rallies, building those at flanks is a great effort and achieving this can turn around a lost match. They get to do this for free, this is ridiculous.

and most important, the area between your main spawn and the objective is where you will place most of your Rallies, pushing through the enemy lines is very difficult - but once done destroying those Rallies will deal a critical blow to the enemies reinforcements, Rally hunting is a very impactful thing to do - YET AGAIN Paratroopers get to do this for free, because they are allowed to drop even in
front of their enemies main spawn.

Paratroopers main mechanic doesn’t follow any consideration and completely ruins the structure of the game. This needs to change.

as much i’m not particularly thrilled about the paratrooper implementation and somewhat dislike the concept of it outside uniforms,

i think they could some some tweaks.

but they don’t really need much beside reworking the way the plane work.

such as:

as they were previously nerfed by the speed they come down.

but the fact that the parachute LOD disappears after 110 meters should be fixed.

( additional limitation that i would add would be, ( even though, a fever dream ) no more than 2 active paratrooper at a time. even if one is still alive similar to tanks )

because 4 stack para is no fun…

everybody at max BRs seems to be using Paratroopers non stop, which results in complete chaos, there is zero structure in those maps, the enemy comes from where ever and no one knows where the enemy will be in 20 seconds, its like you start capturing one objective and “boom” 3 Paratrooper crates just landed 5 meters next to you - meaning you will very soon have to fight off 3 full squads in close quaters - who other wise would have had needed to walk first 100 meters to reach you.

There is no strategic positioning or rally placement any more, the enemy is everywhere, behind you, at your flank, above you, right next to you. Pure chaos.

well, i guess i got used to chaos due to being an ex main of berlin and normandy campaigns.

and as far as i have been playing lately, top tier is filled with paratroopers.

but, to be fair, they are quite voulnerable as they are slower than they used to.

not to mention, HE, flametrooper, machinegunner can make quick work of them.

therefore, further adjustments to the planes ( and perhaps a limitation on how many active at a time ) could improve the situation.

if it can help,

my suggestions are, always take out the player first. ( aka, the first guy that lands )

then, start mopping the floor with the rest of them.

it can buy you some vital seconds.

When it comes to paratroopers I’d say Soviets and the allies have the most problematic Paratroopers in the entire game Soviets can go wherever they want and the allies have too many event paratroopers so they can just swarm and objective with them And if you say anything about the FG 42 Grenade launcher that thing is bad and is unreliable and doesn’t even have enough ammo to fight on the ground and when you come to Italians they are over level and the only thing good about them is their Rally point capabilities that’s about it

when you’re killing someone who has four paratrooper squads in one match it’s quite frustrating to say the least

They need some restrictions and changes:

  • Ability to swap weaponry to all Paratroopers as you can with USSR troopers.
  • 1 min cooldown just like with planes at the start of the match. It’s too much for defenders to take, if you go make a rally you lose point. You have to pick between making a rally and defending, you lose either way in the end.
  • Only one at a time cooldown. Having 3-4 paras drop at the same time is just too much.
  • They should not be able to pick an engineer and make a rally. Remove engineer.
  • Restricted to only one para squad per player. Right now it feels like all we fight is paras…pretty frustrating.
  • Restrict the perimeters where they can drop. Right now it’s hard to have a rally point, you just get jumped from paras and clean rallypoints over and over. We already have rally points problems.

They are too much of a powerhouse and overshadows every other squads in all aspects.

Ironically how peeps started crying when only USSR got paras but never did with few for Germany🌚 Soviets ruined someone’s ez game

I think the para unit is necessary and a great unit for gameplay to change up situations caused by the occasions where the enemy team has ALOT of rally points. They can be very hard to get to because of the constant waves of troops, especially if they are defenders

Having said that…maybe 1 para unit allowed in deck

I will hardly ever use paratroopers if they can’t build rallies.

Some paratrooper squads are strong only because they are 6-men squad with strong main weapons, oh, and most importantly, premium squads’ 2x exp earn.

I SERIOUSLY doubt many people are running 4 paratrooper squads. If anyone is doing it, I doubt they are doing it for more than a match or 3 for giggles.

I have all paratrooper squads. All flametrooper squads. I’ve never run them all.

I think you’re just assuming it’s happening because it could.

But they can only do that if you choose mortars with ONE engineer. If that engineer dies before you can build a rally (or land) then you’re stuck with a squad with two mortars (that almost nobody cares about) and some troopers with whatever the primary weapon is. With many paratrooper squad’s that’s nothing spectacular.

I always get squad wiped when i use paratroopers. It doesnt matter if i land into the furthest corner of the map there is always someone waiting
