Paratroopers die in one hit by flak

In the current game they withstand several shots.
Where is the need for mankind to withstand 20mmflak? are their muscles made of steel?
Are they all Arnold Schwarzenegger or something?

Paratroopers should die instantly if shot by AA.

It feels like they take reduced dmg from inf weapons as well, more than few times it took 3 shots with FG to kill in mid air.

Just my personal experience, could have been poorly placed shots too idk.

I think AA guns were already weak in terms of dmg before.

im very sorry mate, but you are dead wrong. i thought the same way as you, but then was kindly enlightened by the expert community in this forum that it was clearly a skill issue from my part, i just needed to try harder and git gud.

if you are lucky, you can even be given some excellent tactical advice, like “you just need to flank em, bro”.

no problem with paratroopers, they are perfectly balanced, not OP in any way, and they didnt changed in the slightest the core mechanics of the game; it seems they even die by themselves on the plane most of the times before jumping, those troopers seem to have heart attacks at random and just drop dead.

paratroopers do have vitality perk though.

that might be why they survive a bit longer

I have hardly ever used it against infantry, but once I shot a German soldier on a cliff with an AA placed on the beach on a D-Day map.
I wiped out 2~3 squads, all of which were one-hit-kills.
However, the paratroopers survived a few shots while in the air, despite the hit marks.
For whatever reason, they seem to be getting a health buff during the descent.

I also notice I need to hit them more. I don’t know if it’s a combination of distance, and leg shots being more common than normal on them because of the angle…? Something like that? But killing them definitely isn’t easy, it’s rare to get more than a few.

It might be a good idea to set the durability level on their parachutes so that if their parachutes are shot through, they will crash and die.

parachutes dont function that way. unless you manage to make big hole in parachute or destroy few ropes, few bullet holes will just negligibly make drop faster than without damaged parachute.

maybe it is possible for bullet holes to make structural weakness in canvas so it rips, but i doubt it.

Considering the usual descending speed of that kind of historical equipment, making them fall even faster because of gun holes should quickly result in some leg damage at least.

If the paratrooper is not Schwarzenegger, it stands to reason that he would be injured if his parachute were damaged.

you wont really get much different speed with few tiny holes in canvas. you may get 0.1% or 1% difference in speed with few bullet holes. that is difference between 20kmh drop to 20.2kmh drop and that is withing fault tolerance of jump.

idk what is the point of that clip… it showed common malfunction of parachute where you just needed to remove primary parachute and open reserve one. shooting parachute wouldnt cause any significant damage unless it was made of shit material and that hole made structural damage that ripped canvas (which i find highly unlikely to happen).

with a lot more shots you could do significant damage to it, but idk how many bullets you would actually need to take down parachute.

btw here is quote from quora on this question

Depends on a parachute and with which you are shooting it.

The skydivers’ wing parachute consists of 7 or 9 pairs of air-inflated cells, which are independent of each other and can stand large holes without collapsing. The answer is ‘no’ - enough damage which would cause it to collapse would rather cause it rupture and tear up. It is not uncommon to have holes far larger than a handgun shell on one’s canopy and still have it working A-OK.

The paratroopers’ bell parachute, on the other hand, will collapse - if the hole is large enough. It is radial symmetric, and air escaping asymmetrically rather than through the apex hole will cause it to collapse. It too will rupture if the tear is large enough.

By “large enough” I mean a hole caused by an anti-aircraft gun. Handguns and rifles won’t cause enough damage to cause any parachute to collapse.

I dont know if its just on the half track (soviet) specifically but the 50 cal does pitiful damage too.

Did 50 cals get nerfed in general or if the half track one is neutured?
