Paratroopers are fun but potentially game breaking

Disclaimer: I do not condone (greyzone) camping, not playing the objective, etc.

However, the feeling of a frontline, good positioning, cutting off enemy lanes, setting up a good rally point are all absolutely valid mechanics of .

Tank destroyers and snipers are also classes of the game which are better used froma distance instead of rushing the objective all the time.

But with (paid) paratroopers mechanic none of this really matters: they’ll drop on yop of your tank destroyer in the back of the map, they’ll kill your snipers and destroy your rally points – all of this without the need to push through the frontline, use smoke grenades, crawl or flank – rather just because the player paid $60.

It’s fun, I get it (haha camper tank get rekt), but probably more suitable for a single player game than an online FPS where (in most games) enemies don’t appear from the sky within 20 seconds in any point of the map.

Everyone can get some paratroopers in the Event, yes, but obviously not everyone will have the chance to do so, they are only for the Pacific (even after the nation merging the Germans are still behind a paywall), or if they are added to progression later it will still take a long time to unlock and have the same gameplay mechanics than those who paid $60.

Also, I just don’t see this passing unnoticed if the game releases on Steam/other platforms with reviews – launching a game as a new player, spawning a tank and having mowahk boys simply spawin in the air on top of you (especially when you can’t do the same) won’t go unnoticed in those reviews.

If anything, this may incentivize even more grey zone tanking.

Maybe some adjustments are needed to paratroopers.

Paratroopers will be eventually campaign unlockable as well. :tipping_hand_man:
I really don’t know what’s your problem here, did you even try them?

Who cares :tipping_hand_man: Paratroopers are really not OP or broken.

I don’t need paratroopers to destroy grey zone camping tank in few secs

US premium ones are ugly AF tho.

With upcoming merging and tech tree, new players will be able to play only the low br battles. :tipping_hand_man: So it still isn’t any problem lol.

But I guess you trying too hard to come with some fake drama about paratroopers.

Yeah, I don’t know why there’s option to change heads only for german ones

Amazing argument, mate. Solid.

And you know this… how? Paratroopers with bolt actions can still be BR 1.0 potentially.

In that case they would be unlockable pretty fast and newbies can get them too. :tipping_hand_man:

You do understand that BRs will most likely be separated by weapons, not soldier classes?

Unless we won’t be able to take anything worse than 100-Tommy / FG, but that’s speculation.

In any case, players will want to play high BR without being surprise-blown from the air as well.

a good game builds around rewarding you for doing something difficult, and pushing through the enemy lines should be the core aspect of the game - so if you managed to do that, you basically get closer to winning the game.

Paratroopers ignore this vital aspect of the game, which can bring diversity to the gameplay, but as stated above indeed has the potential to brake the game design.

The ability to brake this line without any drawbacks is very worrisome.

Now what makes or brakes a good class in enlisted right now? The ability to kill and wipe squads quickly while staying in the fight for as long as possible - basically to apply pressure towards the frontline which is why Assaulter squads are META right now, they are in 90% of the cases the best pick for that job.

Now I dont know what type of weapons regular Airborne units will come with, but I dare to say that the premium once are potentially overpowered.

-they have no drawbacks to Assaulter squads
-they get the extra vitality perk, which stacks with regular ones
-they completely ignore the frontline and get to choose a flanking position for free

  • and the worst they can build radios themselves or pick AT weapons

seriously, this is without a doubt broken

Can they, though?

I thought paratroopers squads lacked engineers.

I wonder if potentially once enough players get partroopers the game can boil down to 10 paratrooper squads vs 10 paratrooper squads dropping behind enemy lines, since there is no downside to it.

Why push through defences if you can just back cap?

give em similar notification as bomber planes has → grants enough time for either take a plane / build flak.
If countered with plane way beyond play area let them paras spawn to regular spawn point.
If by AA same applies or paras can parachute and glide where ever the fk they want.

Paras are not OP, they don’t need a nerf, they have maneuverability as weapon, their actual weapons are not that good, no M9 or Shrek, they change up gameplay and I am totally loving using them.

Once you get them from event and they become part of the norm, they will be used, but they only work situationally, they cannot grey zone, but they can start great flanking maneuvers.

Sounds a bit like, I don’t have them, so nerf them, try them yourself before asking for nerfs… they are not OP.

I spawn a Tiger, american mohawk boys are on top of my Tiger literally after 20 seconds: they didn’t have to push, use smoke, flank – they are simply on top of me because $60.

How is this a good game mechanic?

Your tiger is in your playable area who is enemy greyzone, they cant drop on you if you dont park your tiger in front of enemy greyzone

You can simply see a video on youtube of someone who play them, they are fun to play, but OP? Nope

I agree the premium paras are 100% p2w, being 6 guys with powerful weapons, and being the only paras released to date. But we know gaijin is a greedy snail and will continue to be because ppl continue to be gullible and buy those overpriced things.

That being said, the para class itself, is fantastic. The fact it can go behind enemy lines is… exactly why paras exist in the first place, their very reason of being and that is GREAT. It brings a lot more strategic elements than just “zerg in front pressing w” like a monkey, using smgs. It’s something the dying game H&G did right, and what I believe Enlisted managed to replicate as well.

I believe paras are WAY too heavily armed however… them dropping with a giant crate of power weapons is too much imo (even if really fun), and they could have gone without.

You have still limited ammo and can chosse to have only “AT Troopers” or “Scouts” and only 3 soldiers can get those other weapons or equipment, and only one of options have actually engineer in them. It gives them variety but imo its not OP.

I can’t wait for Jap Paratroopers tbh, i can already see those battles where everyone takes them at start.
