Hello bajtársak and fellow forumdwellers,
Today I will talk about the old premium rocket artillery truck which is no longer purchasable, the 15cm Pz.W. 42 or Panzerwerfer as it is commonly called.
First of all, lets compare the Panzerwerfer to other vehicles with rockets
rocket artillery platforms
15cm Panzerwerfer 42, BR4 with 20x Wgr.41 Spr Rockets, 1x MG42
tanks with rocket artillery
Pershing M26 T99, BR5 with 44x M rockets, 90mm cannon and MGs.
Sherman calliope, BR4 with 60x M8 rockets, 75mm cannon and MGs.
BM-8-24, BR2 with 24x 82mm M-8 rockets.
Aircraft with rockets:
P-38 G lightning, BR2 with 8x M8 rockets, 20mm and 12,7mm cannons.
IL-2 (1941), BR2 with 8x RBS-82 rockets, 20mm cannon and 4x 50kg bombs.
IL-2 type 3, BR3 with 4x RBS-132 rockets, 37mm cannons and 4x 100kg bombs.
The Panzerwerfer 42 is not a tank, it’s just a slow half-track artillery platform with light armour to protect against small arms fire. It is very easy to destroy via strafing with any aircraft with 12.7mm machine guns or bigger.
It can be easily penetrated by heavy machine guns and anti-tank rifles at any range.
Its self-defense is limited to a single MG42 mounted on the front with very limited angles so it’s essentially useless.
Despite it being artillery, it cannot fire indirectly at enemies, forcing the player to fire directly from a safe distance thus making the vehicle very situational as most maps do not allow such play.
The only thing really going for this vehicle are its rockets, but rocket spam is not even unique to this vehicle at all.
The Panzerwerfer 42 at the time of the merge was BR3, but under the pretense that it should not bully BR1 players, it was moved to BR4 and was forgotten about even though BR3 and BR1 stopped matching together months ago.
This vehicle really needs to go back down to BR3.
Thank you for your time and attention!
