An anti-tank soldier carrying five Panzerfausts is ridiculous, maybe we could change the Panzerfaust to mine slots, like Lunge Mine Ni05, and limit how many a squad can carry
but this would create some problems:
How to (reload) Panzerfaust?
→ Maybe from ammo boxes? Should this feature be applied to other mines?
Anti-tank squad in Berlin?
→ Remove this class?
Only they can carry a Panzerfaust?
Carry a chest with a few extra Panzerfaust?
In conclusion, I think Panzerfaust (disposable anti-tank weapon) should be a different weapon class than anti-tank rifles or launchers
There are already many ridiculous thing in this game, compromise should be made for the sake of gameplay.
I see no benefits of removing it from the anti tank soldier other than making it less ridiculous.
reading this just reminds me of how 1. Vanguard let’s you RELOAD panzerfausts and 2. vanguard gives a more accurate amount of panzerfausts than enlisted
This is a very bad idea.
Because Panzerfaust is not a mine on a stick.
By adding Panzerfuats to the mine slot, we completely eliminate anti-tank teams from the post-1944 German tree.
Compared with ridiculous, I personally care more about the uniqueness of the game mechanism. I think one of the features of enlisted is the AI team accompanying the player. So instead of creating an AT superman, I think it is important to strengthen the AI teamate and create a powerful AT Squad would be much more interesting
Perhaps Panzerfaust or other gear that is too powerful as a mine slot can be classified as “Tier 2 anti-tank gear” and “+1/2 Tier 2 anti-tank gear” as an upgrade for other squads
My point is not on tiering, but on using the Panzerfaust as a specialization to limit how much a squad can carry this weapon, and as a costly squad upgrade, like choosing to carry an AT gunner as a squad member
I have this idea because I think Panzerfaust is designed with the goal of “anyone can grab this thing and kill a tank”, of course I also understand that this will require a lot of game mechanics changes, and a lot of work for dev, but It would still be cool to find a way to add this feature without affecting game balance.
I think its fine as is, because finding the right distance can be a pain. A single shot for close range isn’t an issue, but when you are lobbing them at greater range, you need those extra shots to help you dial in.
HOWEVER. one thing that I would like to see that is inspired by your suggestion, is a weapon depot, similar to on Pacific where you can pick up the Ni05s. Where you can pick up a Panzerfaust with one shot in it, and THAT one will go into a mine slot if its available.
So to recap, AT squads get extra rounds and they carry them as second primary weapon. There are also weapon depots around where a single shot panzerfaust can be picked up by any soldier.
I actually like the idea. Cos the idea behind the panzerfaust was to make a low cost efectiv AT weapon that anyone could use, that’s why almost every volkssturm unit had one.
But it should be one shot only, without the possibility of reload, like the real one. Right now it’s not very accurate and not always work well, so i think those “features” should stay if they change it or it would be to op.
Normally the Panzerfausts were carried in wooden boxes to the frontline or positions and then given to soldiers. Or they were given in a metal box individually. A soldier could carry multiple Panzerfausts but wasn’t dedicated to bunny jump with a FG42 II.
