Panzer III L for German BR2 TT

every german tank up to BR3 has 50mm of armor - which will cause them to blow up in one hit every single time.

Panzer III L would fix this issue, its basically like the Panzer III M - just without the sideskirts or commanders MG.

70mm of armor sounds scary, but it has more than enough weakspots - hitting the cupola alone will guarantee one hit kills for heavy APHE filler anyways.

Thoughts?

Not a bad choice but personally i would rather take Celere Sahariano rather than yet another Panzer

why not both?

Stug III F, Panzer III L and some Italian beauties? no need to be shy with just one tank

Darkgaijin is too lazy with their WT vehicle ports otherwise we would already have them added to the game along with some French tanks

One, no the tiny cupala or mg port is not where you measure the armor, two can a br1 tank kill it if yes good if no guess.

Why shells don’t shoot straight meaning you have to hit a target barley bigger then the shell height wise. Two spotting this is not war thunder with 15 tanks. Infantry can br1 tank weapons take it out. We need 10 brs and three times as many players. Why this is enlisted a WW2 game not warthunder smashing toys together.

works for other tanks

actually just checked… Panzer III N, M and L cupola have around 80mm of armor, so I guess this is not the right solution

I would love more tanks but the plane, infantry , tank triangle also has to keep with ±1 br.

MG port and driver’s port are easy to kill weakspots with the same armour as the BR1 Panzer III J, if the III M is fine in BR2 than so would be III L.

Ok the m has the lb 50mm and l has lb 39 mm, so one shooting a Sherman should require chitting the ammo or fuel and not say the crew with a tin 39mm. (Long barrel). Same armor as j1 plus 20mm of spaced armor so no not the same.

na just check the armor out in the armor view screen inside the game, that cupola has 2 stacks of armor, 30mm and 50mm - enough to stop T28

I had a tank duel with III M against M4A2 last week, due to weird angles of the map we were both unable to pen, but I kept hitting his weakspot while he could only shoot at my turret and had skill issue (did not aim for my weakspots).

In all honesty, I use the III M because its my favourite tank, otherwise you are usually better off using Pz IV to kill infantry, especially in downtier.
Besides Puma is a better tank than Pz III L so it would be unique with its hard to crack turret armour otherwise overlooked like J1.

Again not against a weaker tank chipping away at a stronger tank. I just don’t want a pea shooter killing five crew in a Sherman with the first hit. You slug it out with a tank and can’t kill it loosing crew you deserve to loose. They get a lucky hit and hit the ammo sucks to suck. But they punch through the turret ring and a to few ounces if explosive kill five crew members that’s bad game design.

Just checked, its actually 20mm + 50mm for driver port.
Uhh maybe it would be a little too much for BR1.
Considering the skill issue of most players.
In WT the late III series are a bit overtiered so I tend to underestimate its armour.
Anyway the real weakspot should be the lower half of the hull where transmission is (only 50mm armour like III J).
75mm tanks should be able to OHK there, but something like A13 (BR1 Allies main tank) would need skill so my final verdict is not necessary.

More skill and bigger maps designed for tank battles, warthunder just has better tank maps. this is because they don’t have infantry, APCS,at guns, so lighter tank ie mediums worse then heavies and light worse the mediums. It is less a fight and more a brawl in enlisted.

I think it used to be 50mm for years because Gaijin mistakingly thought its one piece, than it was fixed and is now a 50mm and 30mm plate.

IDK when that was though, probably before Enlisted was even released in CBT.

War Thunder is a vehicle game while Enlisted is combined arms.
Enlisted’s balance is centered around guns so we need way less BRs than WT, but vehicles get overcompressed this way which is why tanks such as M4A1 or Pz V A are overlooked and never played.

well yeah, thats my main reason why I am looking for things to fix BR2 tanks right now, Panzer III N was Germanies best anti infantry and anti vehicle tank and made other options obsolete - massive HE should come with some downside.

Now T28E filled this role.

Its terror incarnata when it faces BR1.
In my most recent match I rampaged for 2 minutes, before getting stopped by a Pz III J I couldn’t see due to smoke.
In that 2 minutes I got 2300 XP, cleared the objective and destroyed 3 tanks.

Honestly, we either make all 75mm and bigger tanks a BR higher so they can’t bully BR1 or stop down/uptiering, which probably won’t happen so I would add a BR between BR1 and BR2 so BR1 can’t get bullied anymore while “BR1.5” would be better suited to fight back.

it’s also already in the editor
