Pacific is totally broken after last patch

I have really enjoyed the Pacific campaign in the past, but since the merge it has been broken and the last patch really shows this. This is because Japan is winning 9/10 games I’ve played since that update. Players that play as Japan have all of the research done and that top tier gear is pretty damn good. This was already the case before the new top tier items.

Type Hei Automatic Rifle is just a beast, huge ammo capacity, high damage, good control (even in full auto) and good reloading time. There is no bad thing about it. And it’s a rifle, so you can equip it to everyone. Ho-Ri is basically unkillable from the front and it can kill everything the Allies throw at it.

So what to do? First of all BR system needs to be changed so that you don’t get to play against these BR V monstrosities when you are at BR III. There is no excuse to make this huge jump in BR for players who don’t have BR V open yet. This is especially visible in Pacific because Japan doesn’t have as much researchable items as Allies so they will get to BR V way before Allied players. So make the BR I-II, BR III-IV and BR V as the three matchmaking queues. Of course it will make the BR V players wait longer for matches, but it is what it is. I’m willing to wait to make the game make more sense. You don’t get anything out of the game in these steam roll matches, no matter if you are the team crushing the other one or the team that is getting crushed.

Start with that and then you probably need to nerf those Japanese top tier gear, but the most broken thing is BR so start with that.

Japan is not broken it just has more veterans than you have players at the moment and once Japan is not flooded with players the allies will dominate again because they have no cooldown at the start of match for plane spawn and moderators said somewhere in the past that the allies have good weapons and they can actually beat Japan it’s just they lack players.

Like I said, it’s the BR that is most broken. You should not have BR III and BR V in the same match. It’s too uneven.

Well then you should be more accurate with your title and not say Pacific is broken and what you should actually say the BR system is broken but overall it’s already known problem.

BR is not the only problem in there. Like you said the fact that Japanese planes start with disadvantage is one.

BR isn’t the issue - it’s just the player base largely preferring to try the new stuff. Before long it’ll swing back again as it does either every new content release.

Something needs to be done to offset this happening in future - but it’s nothing to do with gear balance or BR.

I’ve started playing Germany while it settles down - which is the last faction that was apparently broken - and it’s actually really well balanced at the moment.

I would agree as immediately following the last update, on level 5 I went from playing for the most part 50/50 win/loss matches to losing 20 straight (NOT EVEN CLOSE ASSKICKINGS) against the Japanese. My rank went from 227 to 207, so I went back to playing level 1-3 and holy cow, back to 50/50 w/l matchups and I’m back to rank 228. LOL. I can say this that the makers of the game have little regard for Allie weapons as I seem to get the jump on enemies a lot, see the blood and yet I’m the one who dies. Yes, I get the assist later, but this is very frustrating when I open up with my Thompson, see blood from the enemy and yet am killed by his melee attack. LOL I seem to lose that battle 80% of the time, yet I would guarantee that would not be the case in real life. I doubt anyone here would take a knife to a submachine gun fight and live to tell about it. Of course, I get shot by rifles kneeling behind tanks, boulders, trees and on the other side of hills. LOL However, I know its a game and I play for fun, not because it’s realistic. But until level 5 is competitive again, I will just play with either my level 1-2 or 3-4 squads.

Japan was fine with BR 1-3 and without completely fake weapons and vehicles and should have been buffed in terms of tanks and planes only a little bit to be on par with US BR 1-3, which would also feel authentic to play without Pershings and Calliopes in jungles.

Guys.

FOR NOW, Japan rules, because it got more new toys and ppl want to unlock them.

It won’t last so don’t fret.

It’s like old Tunisia, the trend go back 'n forth.

Not long ago, Japan was a bot faction if you guys recall…

This. Exactly this:

I disagree. This is not like something in the past. Now you can’t pick Allies at BR III - IV without getting your asses kicked in Pacific. In a week my Allied matches have been in the Pacific 4/5 times and all of them have been pure torment. Or you can’t pick Japanese between BR III - V if you would actually want to have some challenging and fun match.

So it’s not like Tunisia or any other old campaign as you can’t pick the places you are going to fight in since the Merge.

I think you’re a smart enough person to understand the bottom line of what we said:

Player fluctuations of favourite/shunned factions are happening since Enlisted exists.

What is happening in Pacific is no different. And it will change sooner than later, like it always does everytime there’s a new toy somewhere.

Because let’s be real. Usa faction isn’t lacking content. MUCH better tanks. WAAAAAY better lmgs. Comparable smgs. Better bolt actions. Better semi autos. Godly cas.
The m2 carbine received a huge boost in the form of better camera placement. You can now aim with it and there’s no real recoil either.
Japan got… better fighters, and the new SF rifle that is great. But any guy with m2 can compete just as well now.

So it’s clear the issue isn’t the equipments. It’s just the player base enjoying Japan for now because they had the most new unlocks last patch, they are finally competitive. They were really meh pre update and were the underdogs, nay, the FARM of usa faction for a very long time…

I understand your point, but I disagree as I don’t think it will even out. Granted, some people will get fed up with the new toys at some point and move on to play as some other faction. But I believe most of them will keep the BR V gear that they have. They might not play as Japanese as much as now, but every time they will play as them they you only have one option for adversary and will most likely dominate over the Allies. There are a lot more people playing as Allied in BR III to BR IV since they have a lot more items to research to get to the same level as the Japanese.

I don’t mind the factions being a bit out of balance for example with tanks or planes or small arms. That’s part of the fun. I love for example Rising Storm 1 and 2. Factions in those are totally different and fun. What I don’t like is one sided matches that are just a waste of time. This is what we are getting currently when you play as Japanese or Allied in BR III - BR V. Which to me is a big issue and could be at least mostly solved with removing BR V from III - IV matchmaking. They could at least try this and the revert back to the BR III - V matchmaking if it does’t work.

did you play 4 months ago? who dominated? and who was losing?
did you play 3 months ago? who dominated? and who was losing?
who dominates now? who is losing now?

I’ve played since the launch when ever that was. So yes there has been situations that some side has dominated like in Tunisia way back ago. But I’ve seen nothing like this before. And now things are different after the Merge. When there were the campaigns, both sides had the same amount of research. Now Allies have a lot more to research to do to get to the same level as Japanese.

Mmmh are you certain thought?
Allies good gears are lower tier than Japan…

Japan semi, type 4 (just a mere g41) was br 4! (I think now br 3 not sure) while Garands, better, are br 3, and carbines br 2.

What tanks worth mentioning Japan have, before the very last of the line at br 5 again? Pretty much… none. Except perhaps the way overtiered br 4 one. Meanwhile, allies… well they’re all good.

Cas planes… allies get the p38 quite early, then Corsair… What does Japan have?

Lmgs. Oooof lmgs. Allies get BARs at br 3. They’re godly already. Then John at br 4! Japan get a 20 rds one with a scope and meh recoil, and one with weakened rounds…

No. Allies don’t suffer equipment wise. They really don’t…

tunisia was extreme cause you had one side full of players while the other was only half full.

not really. this was normal stuff premerge. 2 years ago normandy axis was totally dominating, 1 year ago allies totally dominated normandy while months before merge situation was somewhat equal for both sides.
also 4 months ago just after merge axis dominated with more than 90% WR for casual player. month later allies totally dominated. now with update japan totally dominates, while axis and soviets are somewhat balanced.

this is only happening cause japan got loads of new equipment that veterans that mostly grinded everything dont have.

Sure Japanese have worse small arms overall. But it’s not that bad as you make it sound. I like most of their weapons. For example the only “bad” LMG is the first one. Others are fine and I don’t see them much worse than BAR. Never felt under gunned using them.

Regarding semi-auto rifles, I don’t see Type Hei being worse than M1 carbine for example. Much more stopping power with that one, of course you need to reload it a lot more frequently since the 5 round clip is spent quickly.

Tanks I agree that there you have the biggest gap regarding quality and usually you just try to avoid tank on tank combat with them.

CSA wise B5 is fine with Japanese, even though it doesn’t have offensive guns. Of course it’s not as good as P38. D4 then is much better with better performance overall.

Pacific is a very sad place now.

Jap players in stacks with Hei Automatic rifles at best / grenade launchers at worst vs beginners with Springfields / M1 Garands.

That it is “player-base issue” is not true, because right after the update lobbies were already full of players with Hei AR / Ho-Ri / new Japanese planes.

and in the same sentence you prove it to be true… who do you think has enough free xp to get new weapons just after update? veterans or newbies? cause veterans all stacked side with new weapons you have that imbalance. wait month or two after the update and you will see japan revert to what it was before.
