make the pacific campaingn include the second sino-japanese war
Also please include the option to eat enemy soldiers for the Japanese faction. Would be awesome.
Make a pacific campaign.
Banzai charge mechanic. All of your squad mates get the order and will rush enemy positions intending to shank a mofo with their bayonets.
Rising Storm had this feature. Add a speed boost and some damage resistance all while screaming with fixed bayonets
it would be fun do do this on enlisted and would give a use to smoke grenade
Smoke grenades mixed with an artillery strike and the entire team bayonet charges would be amazing
No healthpacks either, you go down you pull that pin from that grenade and you die with much honor for the Emperor
I would much rather have unique abilities and trade offs for the factions then just giving them all fantasy semi auto rifles for “balance”
As long as they’re historical, I don’t mind but if they were rare they should be gold order. If the balance is too far off, then that’s where you need tactics to overcome the opponent. US had smgs, Japan had the banzai charge. Obviously we know how history turned out, but that just means you try to keep at range and failing that you melee zerg them before they shoot you all
Or while banzai charging no tickets are lost. There are ways to balance them historically without prototypes and such. I dont think it will happen though
No, it probably won’t.
I would still like to be able to give my soldiers the order to charge opponents though. But buff it for Japan since it was such an accepted tactic for them.
US had SMGs, and Japanese (navy) also had non-experimental mass-produced SMGs since 1920s…
That’s one of the reason why I think early Sino-Japanese war campaign is good for the game. We can see balanced game without zombies or multiple experimental weapons.
Sino-Japanese is fine balance wise, but its a political landmine, and there is almost no way to do it without pissing off the party or Taiwanese, which would result in a loss in revenue either way, so the devs will likely just avoid it.
You always says so but I doubt it…
Chinese both nationalist and communist are unite and fought with invaders sounds not much problem compare with modern Chinese propagandas.
Yeah, but the problem is they need tp pick one battle in particular for the campaign to work. There are very few where both the Nationalists and Communists fought side by side, and none really worth doing a whole campaign over. The big battles worth doing a campaign like Shanghai were fought almost entirely by Nationalist forces, and even for Chinese state made media like The Eight Hundred, that was a problem for the party. Now imagine what they would say if a foreign country made something similar. Conversely, if the devs appeased the Party, then whatever concessions they made would most certainly piss off the Taiwanese market. There honestly is not any way they can manage a Sino-Japanese campaign without pissing off at least one group of people and losing money.
all you get is STALiNGRAD
Good point, when I see footage of the war, I never see those naval SMGs, so they must’ve been used by the IJN naval landing units more than the garrisons themselves. In which case the ‘balanced’ maps would’ve been when they were on the offensive
And actually, I just looked it up and despite being developed in the '20s wasn’t mass-produced until late in the war, the type-100 SMG only had about 8,500 models and was primarily used in China (at least according to the wiki). I don’t know if that includes early models, or just the late models
Of course, knowing gaijin, that’s good enough to have at least two assaulter squads fully armed with them
The Chinese eventually won though, so I don’t think it’s as big of a political landmine as you assume. I think they’d be happy to have it included as long as gaijin was ‘respectful’ about it
