I’ve recently unlocked the P-51 and apparently suck at dropping bombs… I’ve hit 4 people in two matches. Yeah it’s that bad, meanwhile I see the kill feed loaded from other experienced players flying the P-51. Is there an optimal way at using the target sights to know when to drop your bombs? Thanks for the help.
No - nothing except experience, aiming for where you think enemy troop concentrations will be, and remember the bombs will drop well short of where the nose of your aircraft is points.

Had a quick look and can’t find it - but this illustrates the principle - ignore the heights (real world complication!) - basically remember the bomb will fall short o where you are pointed at any angle
The P-51 has pretty small bombs so you need to drop them close to the enemy.
The only way I can describe it is, fly as if you are about to crash into your target, but 2 seconds before you crash, drop and pull up.
It takes practice, but the general concept is to aim your plane at the target and drop at the last moment, leaving a second for your plane to pull up.

Tbe P-51 sucks so bad in this game… The 109 is so much better that it isn’t even funny.
They should at least upgrade the bombs to two 250lbers.
