these are bans only from people reporting cheaters. there might be hundreds or thousands of bans from cheat detection software that we dont know about.

He is an well known modder in the enlisted community who got perma banned without warning for data mining. For first time offense perma ban is too harsh

Well their argument is more like him getting unauthorised access to the dev servers or something, like… well breaching established barriers and breaking into their data, which is probably very problematic from a legal standpoint and not so much about the act itself.
Also no matter what, we wont get the full picture about this anyways.
If possible the devs should consider showing mercy IF it is clear that he had no bad intentions, rather his curiosity got the better of him.

In the list of around 85 names there are around 15 blatant Asian names. So, what’s your math for your comment exactly? I don’t care too much, but just wanna know who exactly am I dealing with, here, on the forum.

i would assume that he got data from public test server which you can update with newer versions of unreleased game for test purposes, that normal players cant play(outside open tests). if DF actually wanted to have some semblance of privacy, then they should have created private server for devs and testers with IP white list for getting updates. any publicly available data is fair game for data mining.
