When this order is given by pressing X while aiming/looking at a friendly tank, the squad will form into lines behind the tank, trying to keep pace with it and keeping it between them and the enemy. In addition, the player whose tank is supporting squads will be notified of this and of how many soldiers are using the tank for cover, allowing the tanker to slow down and position himself in order to support the infantry. This will make it easier to cross some of the more difficult open maps, like Oasis, Seelow Heights, D-Day, Fortified District, and others, and introduce more teamplay/.

Would be useful, especially if the tanker knows it. I always feel awful when I have to reverse suddenly behind cover to repair and wind up creaming several of my allies

Great idea. And the tanker should be noticed by either UI or sound. It would help breaking through defensive.

In theory, it’s a great idea. In this game, not so much. When I see a friendly tank, I stay far away since everyone is throwing clown T&T packs at it.
well having infantry following the tank would act as an escort, hopefully shooting det pack spammers before they kill the tank. The tank gives cover to the infantry and in exchange infantry watches the tank’s blind spots.
