So you’re not in disadvantage when you can’t pick both plane and tank, while I can take 3 tanks and 3 planes of my liking. And rotating only them.

Thats true, but most of the players (70- 80 % - I dont know) dont have a premium account, and very soon distance between F2P and paying players will increase. First off - people who bought Stalingrad will get +3 slots for German and Soviet army. Second - they plan to give an extra slots for premium squads.
The game goes too much into P2W direction.
I don’t see that as some insurmountable challenge, you can be destroyed just like everything else.

I never said it would be a cake walk, just not impossible. As I always say that’s the beauty of the sandbox. Maybe I laid mines all over the place, maybe you and I are at the right spot at the wrong time and you wipe my squad or I wipe yours. Que sera sera.
I also a think a lot of people don’t recognize the skill factor or put extra thought into their role during a match. For example, very few people even bother to build AT and AA guns. A player who decides that will be his role in the match will perform to the best of his ability

You are literally penalised for not taking meta. If this game was sandbox, I could take whatever I want and I wouldn’t be in a disadvantage.
Being non premium itself actually simplified the gaming process, you only have to fully stock up about 3 of your favourite squads, and one tank/plane, take for example me, I have a 10 slot army, and it is so exhausting to issue them even the basic equipment.
Trust me. They’re useful even now.
For example I can take 3 short barrel PZ IV in Moscow. They’re completely shredding any infantry. I can clear whole objectives in second. Their extremely fast fire rate (especially with crew perk) and pretty big blast… Just no comment.
And I can do it constantly.
Define disadvantage. Should I not use Mortars just because they’re not a popular class. It’s the Assaulters job to be on the frontline, and it’s the Mortars job to be behind everything else. I understand the average player’s nature that they want to eat up all the kills and XP but I’m a bit more tactfully minded.
It’s like the majority of the time you won’t get any kills with Mortars because their entire role is a indirect fire. Sometimes I happen to get a lot of kills with it, sometimes few at all. But I’m not going to scrap the Mortar because I’m not at the top of the scoreboard.
That’s the whole point of choosing our Squads. Maybe I want to play Mortar, Sniper, Engineer; or Rifleman, Medic, Machine Gunner; or Assaulter, Machine Gunner, Radio. The roles you get are the roles you choose.
I think the whole reason why “Meta” exists is because a decent proportion of the players literally play this game like CoD. All they wanna do is run and gun and get a bajillion XP. Look at players who quit the match because they’re losing. Yesterday I literally had a match where almost the whole team quit because we were losing in the last quarter. And this wasn’t just the names you see on the bottom of the scoreboard, literally players in the top 10.
Do some people buy 10 slots, sure, but they aren’t the average player.
Even the same idea applies to Premiums. Premiums aren’t guaranteed curb stompers. I view them as just another card in my deck to choose. I personally don’t want them to add a Premium Slot because I like the current system. I have a few Premiums and I don’t use them all the time. I use them because I feel like playing their weapon or just wanted to add them to my deck. For example, maybe I want AT, Sniper, Premium SMG; or Engineer, Mortar, Premium Assault Rifle. I could literally have every single Premium squad and I’d probably still use the vanilla squads, because I said to me they’re just another card.
I don’t have the mentality where I choose Premiums to PWN n00bs XD

It’s one of the major reasons I’m suggesting limited amounts of certain squad types. As far too often people only play the easy overpowered classes that just run straight at the objective, rather than taking other squads and doing other roles.
I’m frequently running up against players that are just cycling through SMGs and flamethrower squads non-stop.
One of the reasons that there are many classes that just simply don’t work anymore is because of the relentless spam of overpowered CQB classes.
M2 carbines might be effective, but they still aren’t as powerful in the CQB role as SMGs in most cases. If the player wishes to run multiple rifleman squads armed with rifles, so be it.
I would like to point out that just because my suggestion limits the SQUADS that can be taken, it doesn’t limit the player from bringing those classes on OTHER squads (in the case of SMG, MG, and AT troops).
Essentially it just helps to REDUCE the spam of those soldiers, and reduce the frequency of flamethrowers.
My point is that you are totally not flexible with only 3 squads.
What if situation changes and I have to storm the objective with my mortar suqad?

of course is not necessary, If you like to play those shitfest of flametrooper spam matches with molotovs or white phos, I think the limitation is welcome, it allows a bit of creativity instead of just metawhoring maybe in the update would not be the case but I think it is ok to have a slight limit on how much of a same thing you can have
See there’s the issue right there. Like I said the roles you get are the roles you choose.
First, obviously you could’ve upgraded your Mortar Squad to have Assaulters if you want to have a man for that job
Second, just because your Mortarmen have bolt actions doesn’t mean they’re useless. Obviously there are times where I attack the objective as a Mortar, if I’m out of ammo and no one builds ammo boxes or if the push needs bodies. Sometimes if there are a lack of soldiers on the objective I’ll go support it until “reinforcements” arrive. Almost like a “second-line” unit. I never feel like I’m disadvantaged just because I have a bolt action. Every weapon has its place
No one soldier can be Super Mega PWN n00b Destroyer XD420. If you feel you have an absolute need to attack the objective than that is your prerogative
To give some of my examples, if I’m a Medic I’ll try to stay with groups of soldiers so I can heal them as they go. If I’m a Machine Gunner I’ll find a nice spot to bipod. The Enemy Assaulter defending the objective is doing his job just like you the Mortar is doing yours
They might as well just remove every single weapon and we’ll all use nothing but SMGs like CoD. (Note: There is nothing wrong with SMGs I am just making a point that if it is apparently that big of an issue with players)
They said they won’t transfer slots from Stalingrad FA and after complains of me and many people they changed their mind, then we were vocal about free slot for premium squads and it was the same situation, we will get them in future. So as long as you put pressure on them they may change their mind.
4 slots for f2p players are barely playable, two additional slots should be unlockable by paying silver first for 10 and another for 30 (160 silver across all nations)

I do use mortar squads only as attacker when the game starts and there’s open objective (not in building).
It’s basically free 10 kills at least. That’s how I leveled up ones in Stalingrad.
Might as well make the game no longer F2P and see how long it last with current state?
