Opinion on Friday Twitch feedback May 30

@MajorMcDonalds these are my thoughts on the first Friday stream.

I think removing military rank / removing nickname decorators from kill feed would be pointless and a waste of time for the devs atm and they would be better off fixing / looking into glitches.

Streamer mode is a nice thing to have but will only benefit such a tiny group of people when theres other stuff people would want like a new factions, new/more vehicles, more cosmetic for all factions, new/more maps, more custom mode stuff, wider play area, more events, more achievements, more squads, better customization for vehicles, clan features, local group chat, and more stuff that I can’t remember.

Timeouts for desertion will decrease the player count without a doubt and a better option to deserting is rewarding the players that actually stay in the match by not taking away loot on a loss and giving the exp and silver the deserter had gotten to the players that stayed.

Reducing dispersion and increasing recoil across all guns would be great but like a recent post has stated it should be based on its gun/ammo weight because why would you shoot in a straight line while strafing with a massive LMG.

Tank camo not affecting decals would also be nice to see giving bland tanks camo more usability.

I know the stream was to get new feedback for the game but there many stuff waiting to be added/ updated like the supposed 3 year wait on custom mode stuff. Maybe for Friday stream it can be more of a reply to people comments across all platforms like how you mentioned about commenting on YouTube videos.

Also it’s been a hot minute since seeing a portrait and would be nice to see actual portraits not ai generated ones.

–feedback-- make a contest for portraits like the war photo one we recently had that would be super cool to see people make them and actually have them in the game.

Why is that even a thing? I like seeing my golden decals and others and their different nickname decorators while in battle. It’s a nice touch that should stay.

I 100% agree with this as well. I still stay through matches, regardless if they go bad or not, but adding an extra bonus (50% for staying) would sweeten the deal a lot more than banishing dudes for deserting for 5 minutes or something like that (punishing deserters is too risky and harsh as there’s no way the game can differentiate between cowards and needing to leave or answer the door or something like that).

Getting rid of rank might persuade some people from deserting along with adding some incentives like additional silver or experience. The rank might not seem like a big deal, but there is a reason a lot of people play and desert just before the game ends, and that’s because they don’t want the loss but they want the silver. I’d get rid of the rank and the w/l percentage, especially since DF has been attaching event losses to certain factions anyway, so we’re being assessed losses we didn’t play which makes the percentage meaningless. Remove both, add some incentives and people have less reason to desert.

That’s just made up BS.

No, it is not. As systematically bypassing MM is still going to be so much beneficial.

You clearly have no idea how big of a problem desertion is. Or what about desertion is so problematic.

And your solution is most likely the most naive thing ever. I don’t even think anyone can honestly believe something like that would actually work in any meaningful way, lol.
Literally just a dmg control argument used by people who wish to keep bypassing the system.

Penalties for continuous desertions are necessary, as there’s no other way how to effectively prevent systematic abusement of desertion feature to bypass the system and MM.

oh that is being conisdered is it? sounds interesting

There’s totally easy way how to differentiate people who just needed quit one match for whatever reason and people who are systematically abusing desertion feature for their own benefits.

How?

Don’t punish the first desertion. But the following desertions in period of 5-15 minutes from the previous desertion should be punished.

It is literally that easy.

its my opinion not BS.

I always see people leaving match at the start, middle, and ending. They dont like the map, the team is performing badly, personal reasons, and some rage quitting are some of the most basic stuff I can come up with. The more people leave from a match causing other people to leave making the remaining players have a bad taste of the match they just played.

How would a timeout for repeated desertion offenders not cause them to stop playing the game with their spare time? Why would rewarding the few players that stayed in a match ( most likely a lost ) not work? Enlisted should reward players for completing battles not prevent them from playing their game. Yes deserters should be punished but not a timeout from matches but as in no loot for them, no task completion, and negative stats if they care about that. If they want to leave a match they can unless Enlisted removes the exit option.

Yes but please explain what happens to the MM when someone decides to leave repeatedly. Do they get bot lobbies? Does the team becomes 1 sided? Do they get to play vs other players that are at lower battle ratings?

he only wrote this part down so I wouldnt know

…oh…less interesting

It is not that easy because many times I get back to back games where the whole team isn’t playing the objective especially at br5 so why should I be forced to stay in those matches where my team can’t defend or attack a point when I can play with a new team that knows what attack and defend means. Why would I want to play in a losing team where I get a reduction of loot because the team as a whole lost when I can cut my losses and play a new match. If I leave a match my loot should be given to the other players since I didn’t want to stay anyways. I dont have every faction researched so it would negatively affect me in that way. If I have to wait 5-15 minutes to play another match of enlisted I would literally play any other game because why would I wait after having seen a dog water team do literally nothing for 7 minutes while im actively trying to push a point and get obliterated by the enemy team that is untouched.

Then do not present it as a fact, since it is suddenly just your opinion :man_shrugging:

You just proved my point.

What makes desertion problematic is the systematic desertion, where people deliberately bypass the system and MM by continually deserting games until they get the “right match” from their perspective.
Which could realistically be anything.

No exps/silvers play a role in this. Especially from the perspective of a veteran who’s got all TTs completed and more or less doesn’t need additional resources.

Literally the solution you’re offering won’t have any real impact on those people who are systematically deserting the most. Because the benefits that come from exploiting the system simply can’t be outweighed by some extra silvers and exps, especially if you no longer need them.

It would literally be a PR solution that would not solve the real problem. About like the addition of spawn camping guerillas didn’t really solve the core issue of grey zone.

Why should I care?

Realistically in your online multiplayer game you don’t even want players who exploit the system for their own personal gain only to worsen the gaming experience for all other players.

Literally these players won’t finish most of the matches they enter anyway. How much difference would it have made if they hadn’t been playing at all? They’re literally putting a strain on MM already.

Plus if they leave within the first few moments of a match, they’re causing the other players that replace them to have a late join/spawn to match - very frustrating experience.

Why would anyone realistically care if a certain percentage of them quit the game completely because of this? (Which I don’t think would happen anyway, since similar penalties are present in lot of similar games as well).

Systematic desertion in this game is huge problem and needs to be addressed proactively.

They should be prevented from entering next match for X amount of time.

the tittle of the mess room post???

you decided to add your opinion to this post???

Fair enough maybe block players from entering a new match for 1-3 min instead of the 5-15 minutes( the time can also increase by 1 minute for every desertion like the iPhone lock out lol ) but still add the other negative features for desertion as well since it isn’t only veteran players doing it

Okay, you may be right here, I do apologize.

I was able to take my mind off the title while reading your post. And the sentence I quoted sounds more like a definite fact than an opinion.

Here you took my response out of context. And added a completely random generic question that has no connection to the context.

Of course, like the fact that desertion should count as an no-win. And in that case, lowering your win rate percentage.

Not like now - that deserted matches don’t reduce your WR.

I put out completely random number, literally just for example.

It would be up to the developers to decide what time rame is appropriate.

that has to be the wildest thing i heard this whole week.
and not in a good way.

( the fact that they are even considering it a " streamer mode ". like ever wondered why people don’t actually stream this game? i can guarantee you it’s not because of a " lack of streamer mode ". and beside, the few that already do, seems to do just fine. )

well he only wrote it down as a feedback note from the stream so I wouldnt put much thought into it since there weren’t any dev present in the stream

What is overlooked is: Has anyone who experiences constant quitters asked themselves “is it fun or even worth fighting against my tactics”? Because it gets so predictable and boring from a newer players perspective.

-We lost 500 men taking one objective
-the enemies are now mostly relying on bombers and tanks in their spawns after loosing ONE objective
-the rest are hiding in bushes
-its one or two players versus 2-5
-my team has not even unlocked engineers yet

Forget winning, most the quitters are bored of kill farmers and sweat lords who can’t enjoy anything except making sure it’s an absolute guaranteed win for them. Maybe it would be wise to leave penalties in higher battle ratings like 3+ with a notice for penalties. Giving new players the impression they will be penalized for not wanting to easy feed someone in a mortar tank sitting around all game 100-0+ well… Honestly just good luck with that :ok_hand:

It won’t bring much benefit. A large number of streamers and players refuse to live-stream “Enlisted”, mainly due to the following reasons:
â‘  The painful simulated movements (rather than motion capture);
② In most cases, you are just constantly dying and killing, and the streamers have few “lasting and dramatic stage effects” to offer the audience. Many viewers don’t want to see the streamers always maintaining an advantage in a 4-person team, or even an 8-person team. Some viewers also won’t watch a streamer who is matched in a one-on-one battle, as they often have to deal with not only the opponents but also the various inactive players among their teammates.
③ For video producers, over nearly three years, the replay system of Enlisted has not been perfected. It is still riddled with numerous bugs, and to a certain extent, these bugs persist and keep reappearing, making it impossible to effectively utilize the system in many aspects such as video recording, highlight replay, and reporting cheaters, etc. The only improvements have been in the form of visual quality and texture quality, which are merely superficial. (When the basic service is inadequate, how many people would stay for additional services?)
④ Since the replay system was introduced, many players have mentioned that at least in custom mode battles, there should be a “spectator position” / “referee position” / “strategic and tactical observation position”, but this has never been given additional attention by the developers.
⑤ Not to mention the mod authors and their works, which have long been neglected.

PS:
①There are still many players who have left because they have been waiting too long for the developers to fulfill and complete certain promises and goals. For instance, the “merger” took a year, but the overall plan and the early version did not have significant differences. Even after the “merger”, many of the accompanying changes have not been completed (such as the brand-new costume system, the brand-new battalion system (including the overflowed battalion research levels), more ranks for each type of soldier, etc.). Not to mention many contents that were planned to be added to the game in the minor version update expected in March 2025, their completion and quality cannot be guaranteed in the minor version update in June. Not to mention the Gaijin game item exchange that many players have been looking forward to since 2021. Maybe in 3 to 5 years, or even 10 years?
②In addition, the biggest problem in the current Enlisted gaming environment is the lack of hope, light, trust, honesty and love.
Since the preparations for the “merger” began, many events caused by various reasons have continuously hurt a large number of players.
Yes, James, mov and Mj took over this ruin from Keo.
However, the clearance and reconstruction of the ruins were equally unsatisfactory.
Just kidding. (The construction progress is like the high-speed rail in California/the terminal building in Heathrow/the terminal building in Houston)
But by 2025, when many players felt that the “merger” was about to be completed and the dawn was approaching. The ban on “baz37”, “The special operation of the Russian Forum”, “The increasing delay of the new bp update in March”, “The low-quality version update released in March”, “The resignations of James and mov”…
As an Easterner, my friend and I are still working hard to translate the replay of Mj’s live broadcast on Friday.
However, we still maintain a pessimistic attitude. Then, I hope both of us can persevere and try to see the dawn in the future.
At least for now, on the distant horizon, it is still thick darkness.
Thanks to the blessings of different regions, cultures and beliefs, it is hoped that the present is just the darkness before dawn.
Hoping for the true dawn, rather than attempting to delay the lifespan of fish by dripping water on land through more and more events and activities.

I have to say, I agree with all of the above. Would love to see some recognition or feedback or whatnot, maybe talk about it next friday @MajorMcDonalds ?

Re “Stremer Mode” just call it an anonymizer, anon name appears in team list, full name appears in results, it could stop sniping and deserters due to clan/vet/name tag stacks.

I think adding Desertion to player stats, and making stats public would help stop the phenomina, no-one can brag about their winrate if they have high dersertion stats. If you make stats public, via API or something (with a lag so we don’t see toxic mods like XVM with live player stats in a live game) modders/private devs will make websites with stats/league tables (or provide this in game) serial deserters will lose all credibility/street cred as their stats become worthless. Players would also be able to see their stats improve over time, graphs etc. encouraging competativeness/git gudness/personal goals.

Desertion sanctions I’ve suggested in the other thread about it, I’m just glad there are plans to address/impliment it.

It must be admitted that the content and responses that many players want to know are blocked by confidentiality agreements.
So players are more looking forward to seeing the developers demonstrate their action ability, execution ability and professional technical capabilities.
What players expect is for developers to keep their promises, complete all the contents on the 2024-2025 roadmap on time, quickly and with high quality.
And on the basis of the 2024-2025 roadmap, many aspects that players still expect will be exceeded.
Finally, not only was a detailed roadmap for 2025 to 2026 drawn up (with each project accompanied by an estimated completion date).
It also roughly sketches out the roadmap for 2025 to 2030, and even the roadmap for 2025 to 2050 for the players.
