actually it can serve a purpose where you can take 1-2 players out of defending/attacking cause they will be chasing bombers. although usually it is just waste of artillery time that could be spent blocking reinforcements to the cap.
I think it is because idiots have problems with reading and do not realize that they often get between 0 and 5 kills with bomber raid. But they see that the red circles are bigger than the artillery circle, so “bombers will kill everything inside for sure”
Idea #1.) Put bombers on their own cool-down slot, seperate from the rest of the support call-ins/artillery, that way even if bombers are already called in and still 2 minutes away from dropping bombs you can still use rocket, smoke, or artillery barrage.
Idea #2.) Allow support call-ins to be placed in a queue as they are called in. For example: bombers are approaching the battlefield, called in by another player, but you want to use a rocket barrage. Under current circumstances you would have to wait until the friendly bombings run is over, otherwise when you click on the support call-in map it only closes the map without accepting your call for support. Instead, your rocket barrage (or any other support call-in) would automatically start at the point you selected once the current barrage/bombing run is over with.
I sometimes use bombers to reach into grey-zone and take care of grey-zone tanks, so they certainly aren’t completely useless, and it’s nice as a pilot to have bombers to shoot at from time to time, but I can see how abusing bombing runs could be detrimental to teamplay under specific circumstances.
It depends. They can help to take out stuff in greyzone but I usually only call them if I know that the enemy has no planes in the air (although the German and British bombers have some AA potential)
I love when my own team calls bombing runs. Yes you’ve read well.
Because I’m often in the skies… and a huge 5 red doritos bait appears for the enemy planes I’m hunting. Who would’ve thought! they always stop what they are doing to chase those bombers away… forgetting… I’m right over them.
ye, 9/10 bombing runs are useless/bad compared to normal arty.
But in certain situations on certain maps they’re still better than normal arty.
That’s another story tho.
Some of us still remember the days of Stalingrad how effective they could’ve. I might live in a minor denial believing/wanting them to be better than they are since I’m sometimes try them without any luck lol.
What confuses me tho is that my partner in crime is the master of bombing runs: @Shiivex .
The man never fails to get the job done with air strikes even after the nerf. Guy’s misleading me.
Depending on the match I sometimes don’t mind it since it can bait out some pilots for me to fight. Or when the enemy team calls one it’s just free points. Though more often than not I hate when the bombing run is spammed the whole game especially in the Pacific
They dropped 250kg… many, many 250kg…
The outcome was simple: nothing that was in the red zone, was still standing after those runs. It was so fearsome everyone stopped what they did and tried their best ducking inside buildings…
I’d love something right in between the not very potent runs we have now, and the Doom runs we had in Stalingrad.
Double the amount of planes (harder to intercept all and more thorough carpet bomb) But half the score each is worth to shoot down. In total still worth same score
