i like engineer’s fortifications, it’s a little boy’s dream as a child i was playing with toy soldiers and had these toy sand bags and stuff, it feels so good having this.
Nice thread. For me it’s the immersion - you can have fun and reallly FEEL like you are participating in a historic battle. A lot of the maps look amazing and when the Tractor Factory map launched, for example, I really felt like I was almost fighting in Stalingrad. Back and forth captures, up close gun battles, amazing scenery. Same in Berlin - I like that campaign because it really captures the struggle of a last-ditch defence. I don’t mind if the Soviets steamroll sometimes because that’s how it was. I don’t mind artillery bombing the hell out of me and planes trying to destroy my tank every 30 seconds because hey, that’s what WW2 was like (for a fair bit of it anyway). I get to experience that and have fun too (as morbid as that sounds).
I know there are plenty of unrealistic elements at play but Enlisted somehow, for me, manages to capture the vibe successfully.
BFV, CoD WW2, BF2042 Portal, CoD Vanguard, Post Scriptum, Hell Let Loose, the new Company of Heroes all have had either no or very, very limited Eastern Front content in comparison to its vastness and imprtance in WW2.
There are so many things I love about this game!
It’s hard to pick just one, but I really like the balance between realism and casualness!
I play ArmA and Squad, but those games take more time. If I try to play with friends, the whole weekend goes by. That’s fun, but it can be tedious.
This game allows you to join the game at any time. Plus it’s a quick and heated battle. On top of that, it’s fun to be able to have a realistic flavored fight with a short ttk, and I get to take my bot around!
Also, I love leveling up and improving my equipment and troops, just like in RPG games. I get very attached to my troops. Many people argue that this is a hassle, but I love it.
I think everything I just wrote is an element of the concept upon which this game was created, so maybe it wasn’t something I should have bothered to write out.
But I really like this game and feel that there is no substitute for it.
Oh, and I love that you’re starting a positive thread about what you like about this game!
Alot if things, but mainly the High variety of weapons and vehicles no other ww2 shooter showed to this day and how easy to use Alot of them on a single batle.
Not like other shooters that one can go all match with a single weapon most of the times.
Squad system is really great about this game, however i can list out just as many things i dislike with the game the way it is atm but thats another topic.
For how useless and braindead they seem, benefits still outweigh the cons.
Even as just extra lives, they cut out so much running out of game.
You can order them to heal You, give You ammo or destroy tanks (and they cook granades).
Engineer bots take the cake, even though i wish they could further expand them, so maybe they could queue up build orders, or at least carry them out after You switch soldier/weapon. For now they need supervisor to work.
I can’t wait for further bot order expansion, they could carry out all boring task we don’t like to do but need to be done.
Imagine pressing that “Need rally point/ammo box” from command wheel and engineer in Your squad builds it for You. Then “reinfore point” could order them to build sandbags and barbed wire.
“Drop mines here”
“Drop medkits”
“Mortar that area”
“Dig me some trenches”
All while You can run around doing whatever You want.
Invasion is absolutely rubbish, every single time the invaders cannot do a thing. I just played a lobby where we were 14 and they were 10 and we could not even take the first post, out of 5, how the hell is that normal? Somebody explain that to me?
Alternatively last night I had a game where we were absolutely dominating them, managed to get to the final post, but still lost because we ran out of troops, but in no manner shape or form would they have felt like winners and we felt like losers, somebody explain that to me?
It’s literally so imbalanced and the worst game mode ever, yet somehow it is the MAIN game format, you must be joking me? It’s so broken and in favour of the defenders, that I think if you were to give the defenders 1000 troops to defend with they would still come out winning 95% of the time.
Also why can I not post my own topic on this matter?
I love this game, because the immersion and feeling when in a match with other players is amazing. The combined arms and potential to fly, tank and be on ground is the best, the battles are fast and slow depending on time of day, the fact a tank is spotted or a plane is being annoying or an an mg nest is being particularly troublesome and there is a counter ie tank, plane or AA / AT gun
The game is growing and I have invested a lot of time and money in it, the devs listen and to be honest they have made this game smash any of the WW2 competition, yes there are more things to come, some bad decisions such as cough wood pen, but on the whole I love this game.
The time of day can mean playing against all marshall team, to 3 or 4 incl you, the fact when solo I fly more than be on ground, the freedom is there, my clan events are when we get sweaty lol
After logging into a Battlefield game it was very clear to me the 1 thing is the time to kill combined with gun play. Battlefield and other FPS games play like an arcade compared to Enlisted
