Holdiing down the right click for so long causing hand damage.
Just change it when we right click once with the sniper rifle, the scope should stay in the zoom until we right / left click .

If you hold the right click for so long that it’s “causing hand damage”, maybe you shouldn’t be playing as a sniper…

Wear a weighted ring on your RMB finger.
I’m pretty sure you can adjust this behaviour by messing with the key binds. The thing that lets you half scope is aiming 1, and bound to right click fast press, while full aiming is bound to right click. You should be able to change that. However, when I tried to test that, I ended up getting some weird behaviour that didn’t go away until I fully reset my keybinds to default, so try it at your own risk.

No, because snipers can (believe it or not) be played well without being a camper.
Grab a DMR, or even a bolt works and play them actively at mid range. They especially shine while defending from the objective.
But if you’re holding right click continously for so long your finger hurts, then that just means you¨re role playing as zaytsev at the back of the map doing nothing for your team.
It’s really fun how some of you
a) draw a lot of conclusions from your mind reading posts
b) you do not say or suggest anything substantial but you look at how to write your wit
c) you have an opinion on what class we should play
No one asked you, nor do you have any right to tell anyone how the game will be played and what team they will choose.
If you have something to say about the suggestion or reply to a question, do it. Otherwise, keep your smarts for your friends and family.

Look at yourself. You’re just spamming suggestions with nothing good. Not even realising what you said created problems with other game mechanics (backup sights). Mess room exists for this kinda half-baked stuff.
Well, when you have to deal with being the only person on your team doing anything and everyone else just sitting at the back of the map refusing to do anything to help win the game, you kinda start to get an idea of what classes are best for the game and how they’re meant to be played.

First you got to understand the difference between SUGGESTION and QUESTION. It’s a suggestion for the programmers of the game and not toxic wise guys.
A dumb, not at all thought out suggestion.

Apologies for my confusion, but does this mean that you have in fact found what you are looking for now? Its somewhat unclear from your message, as technically the relevant options aren’t really in the controls page, but in the key bindings page under weapons, so I’m not sure if this means you looked again but couldn’t find them because they are in a weird place (ie the keybindings page), or if you have what you need.
No I didn’t found such a mapping.
That’s why I suggested it here in case they add it or in case some else found a solution

solution for OP is to rebind to a different key.
rmb, for me, is move forward and my aim keys are bound to a keypad.

not sure that’s fair on OP.
there’s no one way to play the game and if the devs did not want folk to camp/snipe then they would not include snipers

It is a waste of time to try to convince brainless people who want to command you how to play the game, what class you have to choose and what to suggest to the team of developers.
