Seeing a lot of weapon balance posts and conversations ingame. The way I see it, the fact that our bullets go in one direction (the middle of the screen) really negate benefits and cons to using certain powerful weapons.
I’ve created this same topic years back. We need a “free-aim” system similar to Red Orchestra / Rising Storm. A system wherin one’s weapon isnt necessarily aimed at the center of your screen, and even aimed down iron sights there is a bit of “play” in where your weapon is aimed.
I hope this can get introduced along with improvrments to to the general movement of your character within the world space. Still feels awfully clunky.

Yes yes yes and yes. I loved that thing, would make snap shooting impossible and make gameplay funnier.

considering we already have the rng dispersion which is rather highly disliked I dont exactly see how another versio of that shit would be beneficial.

Right now its just a meta of who has either A) the most bullets that fire the fastest or B) the bullets with the highest damage at a slightly lower rate of fire.
I myself am guilty of letting go from the hip with an SMG at 30-40yds and watching the hit markers fly.
Its kinda lame.

That’s the thing though, in RO/RS its not random. Your bullets go precisely where your weapon is pointed, as they should, but its not guaranteed your weapon is pointed at what you want it to unless you aim or are standing across the room from each other.

I would say we “need it” currently i think the current aiming system is okay its just the recoil that needs to be reworked across the campaigns as well as the wack dispersion on certain weapons that needs to be removed.
Just because another game has a certain system doesn’t mean we need that specific system. To add a free aim weapon mechanic would be a pretty big change let red orchestra have its free aim system and let enlisted keep its current aiming system as its fine it just needs some reworking in certain areas.
That’s the point of this idea. Remove dispersion and add this instead.
It’s more difficult to aim but bullets go where you aim and not in random directions. Similarly to my proposal about replacing dispersion with weapon sway.
Over all RNG is changed to skill. I thought that’s what many people are after, isn’t it.

I think dispersion should be a thing but it shouldn’t be what it is currently where when you fire a round fires off at an angle when leaving the barrel instantaneously. Perhaps there should be very little dispersion over time instead of what it is currently because currently its just odd.
So instead of replacing an aiming mechanic that has been part of enlisted since it began, I’m certainly not in favor of replacing the current system with a free aim sway based one. Instead i would like too see the current one improved by having the recoil reworked and a small amount of dispersion over distance added to certain weapons such as smg’s.
The devs did a good job at reworking the recoil on Stalingrad but they failed un fuck the random ass dispersion tell me how i can aim at a Russian with an smg at 30 yards, fire a single shot, then hit the guy standing next too him ?
Also heroes and generals has a sway system I’m certainly not a fan of it but that’s just me.
No, I wouldn’t say that’s good.
These sorts of suggestions that lower an individual’s capabillity of carrying their team are not good to introduce to the imbalanced mess known as Enlisted. Maybe these could be good if we fix the playerbase gap between factions, but right now, no.
