Okay, are these new premiums that balanced to each other?

The Russian one has a 50 cal on top, which overheats slower, has 100 more ready ammo, and garunteed one shots infantry, and can take on some of the more lightly armored veichles in BR2 and 1,while the German one gets a dinky little “mg42” that is a reskinned mg34 that has 150 rounds,100 less than the 50 cal, usually takes 2 hits to kill, overheats way faster, the only “tank” it can penetrate the M13, which will probably just obliterate you before you can do real damage to it, and the shield isn’t that big, and the sides and rear are still open, so he faces the same problem as the soviet one but only slightly better with protection, and it only has a few millimeters of Armour that can guess what, be penetrated easily by 50 cals, and the Armour only protects against rifle bullets and lower, even an impact grenade to the side of one would make it nonexistent. In the transportation and spawn point aspecet they are the exact same in number of people.

I tried them out a little on test server. And I didnt think one was glaringly better than the other (perhaps too early to tell)

No armor is best armor appeared to apply. I took 5 rounds from a KV-1 and was still operational. Im guessing his aiming was terrible and was using AP rounds hitting empty space.

M3 Half Track pros:

  • Faster
  • 50 Cal
  • Can engage some light tanks

M3 Half Track cons:

  • open driver panel, whole crew susceptable to small arms fire through the front
  • very limited arc of fire on 50 cal
  • Gunner very explosed

SD.KFZ.251/1 Pros:

  • MG AP rounds, wrecks other M3s just as easy as a 50 cal, can track tanks.
  • better crew protection

SD.KFZ.251/1 Cons:

  • slower
  • Gun shield but gunner still very explosed
  • Limited arc of fire

I like them

Yes, but the 50 cal is just so much easier to use and the cons it comes with are similar to the sdkfz’s just slightly worse

I consider the open driver port on the M3 a “significant” weakness That offsets having the bigger MG

M3 = you trade protection for a bigger MG

Personally I think I prefer the SD.KFZ.251/1. Peace of mind not having your Driver easily killed by small arms.

i think, genuinely, that the differences don’t really matter
both are lightly armored with extremely exposed gunners - whoever sees the other first will get the kill

it’s likely, though, that they’ll rarely see each other in any significant capacity. They’re most useful for a quick insert into or near a point as a rally.

Why is them fighting against each other important?

They are going to fight a lot more infantry than they are going to fight each other!

people clearly are comparing them to each other. ill hold judgement on how effective they are in gameplay as their own force

but with at least 2 factions having shaped charge AT at tier 2, I feel like they’ll die pretty easy
their main function is to get a spawn point in that takes more than a single bullet to break

The quote I mentioned was clearly referring to them fighting against each other.

my point stands, though
both of them have very exposed gunners that will die easily
i doubt their MG will have much impact on the game but I could be wrong

they combine a (h)mg emplacement with a large moving platform that makes it difficult to get them into good spots like one might with the emplacements

and im pretty good at sniping commanders i think ill be able to snipe their gunners

Actually the M3 can transport 19, the 251 only 16

Yup…

Big reason i see the open front on the m3 a significant weakness

I saw a game that one guy was in the M3 half track and got the majority of the kills in the game ond only got his gunner shot once, and it was at the end of the round, and there were teir 3 players on the enemy side, so there was some enemy competence https://youtu.be/50Co9VEABr8?si=dJuHH-9rLzzrN3rH

13 vs 10 respectively because your squad takes up the remaining slots past that
