OG-43 with 40 rds mag as a regular/golden/event weapon

A few weeks ago I posted a separate suggestion asking for the event Italian paratroopers to get larger magazines for their default weapon.

Apparently that didn’t get through, and Italian paras have to live with 20 rds mags, which luckily turned out to be less of a problem than expected.

STILL, since the OG-43 turned out to be a surprisingly decent SMG, I think it deserves to be in game ALSO in a version with the larger magazine, to deliver its full potential.

Hence, I’m now suggesting a separate 40 rds version to be added in game.

If it came as a regular weapon, it should be an early-mid unlock in the future German-Italian tech tree, since it would be roughly at the same power level of Beretta M1 or MP38/MP40.

However, it’s debatable whether a regular OG-43 would be a good idea or not. Although the more options the merrier, being much comparable to the aforementioned SMGs it would sit at a BR where there’s plenty of alternatives already; furthermore it’s supposed to be a limited production gun, that shouldn’t in theory outnumber mass produced ones in matches.

For these reasons, it could make sense if a 40 rds OG-43 appeared either as gold order weapon, or as a reward in a future “reinforcements received” event (standalone gun, not tied to a single squad).

Last but not least, a reminder that we may one day see in game its “sister” gun too, the OG-44 with conventional grip and receiver configuration, in one or more forms.

sure.

would still provide a weapon that some people might not have been able to get access to.

as… for example, in the future.

where new players or casuals couldn’t grind it in time

I forgot to add:

There’s already like a dozen different versions of Thompson, including the US Pacific preorder premium marines squad with the 20 rds Thompson 1928, that’s exactly the same as the regular one in Tunisia and Stalingrad EXCEPT for having 20 rds mags instead of 30.

Therefore I don’t think that “copypaste” is a real issue, in this case.

Its a neat little weapon. Would not complain getting a tech tree 40

I think this could be more interesting. It would be basically the same weapon, with 40 rounds, but it would keep the OG43 as a unique weapon and not a “downgrade” of what would be a tech tree gun.

Well, I see no reason why another OG43 should prevent the addition of the OG44.

First of all, the current OG43 is hard locked with the event para squad. As such, and as Erika correctly pointed out already, players missing out on the current event will have no chance to play this particular gun at all, at least for the foreseeable future. Therefore, a more easily available variant would be a good thing.

Then, my guess is that when the OG44 appears it’s going to have slightly different stats than the 43, enough to justify both guns coexisting in game. I guess that the 44, being longer and heavier, could possibly have even better accuracy and recoil.

Also, if we count both versions of the 44 (with either wooden or metal stock), there’s enough for more versions of that one as well.

Of course.

I just meant that if a second OG43 was added as a rare weapon instead of a regular one, I wouldn’t mind too much.
