I thought of an idea that could potentially attract more players (albeit not in the matchmaking) or could be used to experiment with new weapons, tactics for making the AI useful, etc. In other words, like an advanced training.
If you’re online, you can use it like that, or if you are in an unfortunate position where you can’t play online, say, if network towers go down, you can still play offline against AI squads (of course, they still need to be fixed, though), maybe with a separate research tree, but this could be like Star Wars Battlefront 2, where the research you do affects what your team is equipped with. However, if you research all of tier 2 and start to enter tier 3, your team will no longer have tier 1 weaponry due to the evolution of technology, for example. Your personal squads will still be able to be customised with them, though. Also, you can reset the game whenever you please and maybe even customise how the research tree works.
(There’s no way Enlisted can reach that state as of now or would ever do this due to being multiplayer focused. And realistically, this would probably be too big in storage size. I’m too creative, please help.)
That’s true, however, using a password for your custom match requires premium, which not everyone has the money to pay for or wishes to, which means it is possible that the match can fill up with sweats/high tier players at any moment.
It would be nice for everyone to at least have the ability to experiment by oneself or just with friends without needing premium to secure it.
If you set some player limits and turn on some things you can discourage people from coming to your game and you can do whatever you want without being disturbed
well, this whole game needs to work on services. ( as the first thing, you are required to log in )
at best, for people with shitty connection, you can create singleplayer mods ( like i do )
but actually, any mod can be hosted ““offline”” as long you only selected 1 player ( and allows the use of AI )
