Of endgame content and possibly a weekly event game-mode

Part 1: Addressing the endgame and possibilities.
Firstly, if I had everything unlocked, what would be my incentive to keep playing? Fun is why I would keep playing but for others I understand that having a goal to progress towards is a major incentive.

As the game currently stands, there is no indefinite solution to the endgame incentive outside of enjoying your fully equipped squads, not having to level up your ~50mm mortar squad and coming back every 90 days to grind the battle-pass. Not only that, but any way of being able to unlock something you don’t have such as gold weapons or premium squads would be a horrible decision as it would undermine the incentive to use or purchase said premium content. Unfortunately, those event squads/premium/gold content are the only things in the game worth grinding for. We would also be back at square one if all things in the game currently could be unlocked through sheer gamer grind-power.

So, I can only propose the suggestion that something, that can not be bought by money and can only be obtained through playing the game should be implemented that takes a reasonable amount of effort to obtain and doesn’t cause power-creep nor historic tomfoolery. If I were to give a suggestion for the proposed suggestion, cosmetics, vehicles and other simple to implement items by the developer as any game would require upwards of a buttload of content so players never have that definitive feeling of completion. Just out of good principle, do allow for folks to choose what they want though.

Part 2: Yet another unrealistic suggestion.
As for a more permanent solution for the endgame that would require more of the developers limited time. I would suggest a weekly event that players can contribute “faction resources” to play in. These faction resources are acquired through playing the game normally and are reset every week. Faction resources are then used to spawn any squads or vehicles you have unlocked in a weekly conflict map. As for how large such a map should be, how detailed or what the objectives and rewards are I will leave it up to you to discuss. A player shouldn’t be locked to one faction as that would cause everyone to join the winning side at the end of the week. Objectives should be the main goal for players and the game should persist and be joinable at any point in the week. Good luck figuring out spawning and deployment.

Which begs the question, would the game even be able to handle such a continuous and large scale event? It would be cool to use a planes landing gear for once outside of the pacific campaign. It would also be cool to fight a tiger 2 over long distances. Heck, it would be cool if I could just drive in a straight line with a resupply truck, BT-7 or just in general. I would also like it if balance was strictly limited to the nations presently in the weekly conflict and resource points. I like the underdog aspects of the game and good attack pilots tend to make short work of any tank.

Thank you for your time and have fun.

I agree there needs to be more end-game content, though I’m sure they plan on working on that before too long.

I do think that a larger scale “faction conflict” weekly event could be helpful. However I think my vision of it would differ quite a bit from yours.

First off, I think standard games like they have currently is a good place for people to start out, as well as have standard play. By playing the standard mode, they get all the resources they do now, but also gain “faction resources” according to how well they do. More score, more resources (but only for that faction). Those resources however, are consumed in order to join the event battles. This would make the event battles more akin to a “ranked” mode of a sort. Players that don’t do as well in standard battles will be limited on how much they can play of the “major conflict”, in the hopes of less people dragging the team down.

Secondly, the major conflict is determined by a point system, something more than just wins give +1 point to the faction, it would need to be balanced according to difficulty of whichever side winning a fight. Such as if the map is statistically difficult for attackers to win, it can award an extra point. Or vice versa for offense.

Third, rewards are determined by two things. The first is the overall team performance, as progress is achieved, additional types of rewards are unlocked. Secondly is your personal contribution, which determines how much of that type of reward you receive.
This could provide a lot of rewards to further upgrade squads, as well as a way to obtain more customization orders, and even unique rewards.

Unique rewards could be special pieces of equipment, that are only obtained if that faction wins the weekly war, giving players more reason not to switch back and forth on teams.

Just the start of an idea, but I think it could help significantly with end-game incentives as well as offering a mode that is a bit more competitive than the normal setting.

ii m still behind the idea that a RTS like heroes and generals where nations would fight for territory would be a perfect “endgame” for enlisted.

would keep people engaged and matches would mater way more than win/lose - fun they provide.

but a man can always dream

While the concept of the game is pretty much only thing I miss from that.
Its rather hard to imagine it working on this game with the lack of communication being biggest issue.
Also Hng2 on kickstarter, seems it wont get anywhere near the goal but least they tried.
