"Not Yet Researched" Button

I propoose a simple “Not Yet Researched” button in the Research screen.

My example being:

I’ve reached the end of the German TT, but there are still many foldered tanks and planes that I still need to research. A simple button to highlight what folders still need researching would be really useful. Maybe a glowing effect or something.

The little green dot on the Research tab is all well and good, but introducing a button to highlight exactly which folders haven’t been researched yet would be far more useful.

Another example is my Allies TT is complete, but I still have the green dot indicating there’s probably something I’ve missed. Having to go through each folder is a little tedious. A dedicated button would help a lot.

Thoughts?

Eh not really needed and I really dont want to give the devs even a speck of work that isnt top priority atm.

Like dont get me wrong, as a QoL change it wouldnt be bad, I wouldnt complain about it.

However its such a non issue at the same time, since you just stack up the research anyway, eventually you go, “oh huh thats in the game”, “lemme go try that since I have the tree complete”, “oh I dont have it researched, thats no problem, I already have endless research stacked up and waiting”.

Not to mention, is it just me who gets bored every once in a while to have a gander through folders to read squad descriptors or weapon descriptors or etc. Or hell just randomly testing weapons I dont often use?

I’m not suggesting it should be a priority, it’s more of a QoL improvement.

I find it increasingly difficult to finalise my TT because of the amount of foldered stuff.

That might be just you, lol. I know I don’t.

Valid suggestion.

I agree with Admiral-Wenli its really not priority though.

And I know that might seem hypocritical coming from someone with all kinds of suggestions for the game.

But this is mainly only a problem for people who want to complete everything in a faction which takes literally years to do.

I do agree that both Enlisted and War Thunder could make folders a bit clearer though, maybe have a ‘folder’ icon like Windows.

I know my squadmate Ive had to show him where certain guns and tanks were (for instance the VG 1-5 which he liked, had no idea it was hidden behind the Mannlicher M1895).

It would help if the devs could get their act together because there are little suggestions like these that really shouldnt take much time or effort to do.

Ive often commented on making the Australian and New Zealand uniforms from premium/event squads free customisations (as occured previously with the British peaked cap from the Sten Mk III premium squad)
Or copy pasting the Lewis gun/M3 halftrack from Soviet to USA-UK tech tree.

I dont know much about game design but surely its not THAT hard or time consuming to do that.

They went and created whole new jet models and yet still apparently cant allow people to choose BRITISH or AMERICAN/ GERMAN or ITALIAN uniforms.

And yes I am well aware there are different departments but thats all the more reason that multiple changes and improvements should be occurring more regularly and at once.

Cause right now we will wait like 3 years and theyll be a BIG HYPE update and all it will be is your suggestion @LokalHero of making folders more obvious and some crappy prototype BR V thing we didnt need and thats it after us waiting all that time.

What they really need is an easy way to identity which vehicles have special decals or whatnot and especially the BP weapons without having to look through each soldier on each squad…it’s a real pain.

you know, I went to go play today, so I had a gander at the tree, my non unlocked vehicles pop up to the top of folders?

So it seems there is already a system of sorts for it? That or my client is a bit borked.

God yes, there needs to be a little BP or event icon of sorts for squads and soldiers using said special weapons.
