Dear God, yeah what the actual…

well the biggest in game SMG problem is that its 600 rpm at max, while in game its 690 for every veteran because max upgrading your SMG increases fire rate by 15%.
IF they removed that 15%, it would be much closer to MP40 or M3A1 submachine gun, thus less OP.

no one knows - this has been the case for years now, people have been complaining about this and this wasnt even mentioned by the devs.

I believe this is only in the game to spite us.

As ive played murricans lately, I got to say I dont mind the tommy.
Dont get me wrong, it is beast in CQC but that slow bullet and notable recoil & dispersion do limit it usability to CQC.

Infact I do prefer lancester over tommy due to being by far more universal.

Wait but who said campaign levels were supposed to be 1:1?

iirc on the same campaign level for different factions you could get e.g. a flamethrower and a sniper rifle, but that doesn’t mean flamethrower is balanced against sniper rifle

don’t you even start because if you know anything about the Moscow campaign that place was really cursed.

Moscow wasn’t balanced indeed because PPSh-41, Fedorov and T-34 are just better, but that doesn’t mean “devs balanced PPSh by Beretta 20”

well, since US is always uptiered against Japan, they do suffer.
Having to face BR3 with BR2 equipment is painful, which is why they gave US a clearly BR3 SMG on BR2. But this isnt a solution, a much better solution would be to make Japan BR3-4 always downtier instead since the gap between BR3 and 4 much smaller than BR2 and 3.

its the only downside of Thompson, otherwise they are pesudo ARs.

When it comes to that curse campaign that was even more of a joke when they gave that to the Germans

well yeaa, Thompson does still have kinda bad sights, and is kinda difficult to use at times, but its still a powerhouse.

I think if MP40 had close to 60 - 70 dispersion this could somewhat be a different discussion, but the total power of a 30 round Thompson is no joke.
Also its 100% should have been a 20 rounder Thompson in the TT, first because 20 rounder magazines were actually used alot in WW2, second because BR2 should stay relatively weak with SMGs, and third because we already have a bunch of premium and special 20 rounder thompsons in BR2.

Sure, but imo this is the way the weapon balancing should be.
Its heavy hitter at CQC but by far worse than Mp40 / lancester at any longer range.

The dispersion “balancing” is already a thing in BR5 where sovjet AR’s have at best twice less dispersion due to little bit less rof.

I wouldnt mind the short comings of MP40 for example if it actually hit where im aiming at.
But apparently it just cant be applied to smg’s, atleast not against sovjets.

Or instead change its fire rate , the estimate fire rate for that SMG is 500 to 600 not 700 that we got in game

The highlighted part ,says that it fired 500-600 RPM its in the article I linked
