I checked the Normandy Campaign and didn’t see it? Surely they don’t plan on leaving it out?

we are still in Beta
It was in a previous Normandy only closed test, I was so confused to not see it reintroduced with the start of Open Beta. Instead there is British Sten Submachine gun for the Americans?? This makes no sense at all and realism & accuracy is supposed to be a focus. Normandy invasion with Stens and no Thompons is like some BFV alternate reality.
I cant find any info on why it’s still not in the game, but i assume for balancing issues, but I dont really know how. Germans can have Mp40, Americans can have the Thompson. Instead they have added a Sten which to my knowledge wasnt used by American troops until the Vietnam war…

Americans never used enfields, brens or piats either. They’re clearly testing them or going to add british units but why not test the weapons that will be in the campaign as well? That should take priority over another campaigns weapons

Americans did use Enflelds believe it or not, but that’s besides the point. I’m sure it’s down to balancing issues, but open beta’s are a big deal. I think the Thompson really needed to be ready for this stage considering their aims for realism and accuracy. From what I have heard from people who used the Thompson when it was available, it needed more recoil to be balanced and possibly a smaller magazine. This is just speculation though; unfortunately i have seen many people assume the worst that they are saving the Thompson to be exclusive to a premium squad or something along those lines. I don’t think, or really hope that is not what is planned for the Thompson.

They removed all of the initial testing weapons (BAR, Bazooka, Thompson etc) from the game temporarily for rebalancing, as well as letting us test the British gear. I am sure it will return eventually.

I’m almost certain one of the Thompson variants will be a premium just like one of the BAR variants are. Good news for thompson balance is that had it 20 and 30 round mags and 50 and 100 round drums. Lots of options
yeah… it sux. I love thompson. I hope it gets added soon. I mean, you can test it out in practice mode. I was so confused to not see it normandy campaign, since it’s such an iconic weapon… I mean, it does make good sense why they are using Brit weapons for testing for the future campaign… fingers crossed it’s soon !
