Its a topic that has been discussed before in regards to complete removal or not, but I haven’t seen this variant as a suggestion yet.
Essentially, if you are going about, not paying attention to your surroundings, you shouldn’t be given the location of the enemy EACH TIME a CHARACTER DIES.
Instead, it should only show where you are killed from when the LAST MEMBER of YOUR SQUAD DIES.
This prevents players from figuring out where you are shooting from with far too much ease, while simultaneously showing you the ONE time so its not entirely possible to be the “invisible sniper” type.
Theoretically you are supposed to work as a squad. So some form of killcam is perfectly fine as it simulates “johny got shot from over there” situation.
Question is, how “strong” this killcam should be.
Imo we could remove the red outliner around the killer and leave the camera zoom. It would give enough info to allow the victim to find his killer but wouldn’t give away killer’s position so easily.
And as a “forum trivia” here is a survey I did in this matter like 2-3 years ago.
I don’t think even the zoom is necessary, just point in that general direction.
You shouldn’t need to prioritize killing BOTS over players, just because of an OP game mechanic.
As support you should be able to target whoever you need to target, but not magically have your position given away because they can’t pay attention to tracers.
