No full-power rifle should have auto start

Selective fire rifles I think:
AVT AVS AKT FG42s T20s T-Hei auto (M2 isn’t full-power, so maybe the exception)

I know many people hope that all selective fire rifles should have full auto start, but I hold the opposite opinion. I think they should all have semi start.

My opinion is that these things are different from assault rifles. The recoil of full-auto shooting is impractical on the battlefield, only be used in emergencies. Similar to the post-war M14.

Fantasy areas that are not that relevant to the theme:
My idea for full-auto is that there should be a squad command system similar to active skills.
Certain squads will be able to use the “Assault” command to temporarily increase the aggressiveness of the AI, and soldiers with selective fire rifles will also perform fully automatic assaults.

In the real world semi auto is default because it is the “better” way to use a rifle.

If semi auto would have no real dispersion it could actually be the supperior firemode, but since full auto is simply the better fire mode in Enlisted, I should be default.

i’d rather they just allow us to choose what we want to start in

Pointless. Even if AVTs are semi at first, player can just switch to every soldier and switch to auto, just like what Germans do every time.

Then maybe the AI should proactively switch it back to semi-auto
Just like AI can’t use rifle grenades

Yeah. True. I wished there could be an option to make your AI choose between auto and semi-auto which would apply for the entire squad. Plus the FG-42 II starting in semi-auto by default is blatantly unfair. I guess the upcoming T20 Early Rifle would be more beneficial to be used as a glorified semi-auto rifle. Since it is nowhere near as accurate as the Type Hei Automatic Rifle.

you enjoy getting whiplash by switching through a whole 9 man squad?

As long as all of them start in the same setting, it could be either for me.

lol u know what, as an Axis player I’ve been doing this since CBT and Berlin test, back to the era when u need “components” to upgrade weapon. So I wouldn’t mind letting everyone else do it.

Quite sure for the exact reason you mentioned, fantasy. It is entirely irrelevant how impractical full auto was on rifle calibers.

Since the full auto on said rifles in this game has about same recoil as .22LR
Tbh ive seen nerf guns with bigger recoil than this games full auto rifles.

Maybe there’s something wrong with my reading skills, but I can’t understand what your gist is
Could you please state your opinion directly and clearly?

Obviously this, since this is hopefully some kind of reference to how full auto rifles are IRL.

As what comes to ingame, it could not be any further away from the truth.
Full auto rifles are extremely easy to control in this game hence the reference to .22LR.

So in nutshell, the full auto rifles are already fantasy boomsticks, theres 0 reason to keep them as default semi.
Which is just extremely inconvenient to rotate thru all your AI to switch them from semi to auto.

Yes, so I even hope that the game will increase the recoil of full power rounds
The roles of these weapons should be similar to battle rifles, not assault rifles
