NKVD and SS

As you can see, we already have NKVD uniforms in enlisted.

I dont really know a lot about german uniforms, do we have SS in-game?
SS should get better weapons than regular wehrmacht just like fully upgraded NKVD squad gets almost all classes

Seeing as Gaijin is a Russian company, its unlikely for them to implement the SS, also the misnomer that the SS gets better weapons, is misguided. They fell under the Nazi government, meanwhile the Wehrmacht fell under the standard military leadership. The SS mostly got what the government thought was good for them. Which most of the time, wasnā€™t.

Why wasnā€™t it good most of the time? Iā€™m just curious

Because the Army knows exactly what the army needs. The government doesnt know what a paramilitary force actually needs

Thanks :+1:ā€¦

Man, where have you been during Berlin test?
ā€¢ Sniper squad - latvian SS
ā€¢ Mortar squad - french SS
ā€¢ Berlin guards - SS Leibstandarte
ā€¢ Tiger 2 crew - SS Nordland
Yes, their insignias are censored, but you still have their numbers of regiments. Itā€™s a little easter egg from developers. I believe, sooner or later they will be in Moscow campaign too.

Cool. I donā€™t really know what Latvian and french ss have to do with berlin but I donā€™t ask either

Iā€™m not a super autistic ww2 historian type,

arenā€™t these guys SS? genuinely curious.

Looks like Panzer grenadiers or Fallschirmjager

The SS also often got leftovers from the military. Old pz2ā€™s and 3ā€™s when the military ran tigers, for example

As already seen before: Technically the SS already was in the game in earlier tests. The point is that there is no fancy insignias on camo uniforms. And yes, that image from the berlin map technically is SS in the 2nd image.

To come back to the Waffen-SS being worse or better equipped than the regular army:
The Waffen-SS units were often considered subpar to regular Heer units with only very few being considered good. Since most of the money and equipment went to the army as well those units often had to resort to whatever was cheap or left over. Only after the tried coup in 1944 the funding focus was shifted to the Waffen-SS as it was expected that those units were more loyal than the Heer.

This means, depending on time, the Waffen-SS would be by quite a margin worse equipped than the Heer. The Waffen-SS was by no means an elite unit, at least not at the start, just as the NKVD was not a combat unit. I donā€™t get why you would add either except for ā€œnice to haveā€ purposes, so why not.
The big risk is that that always attracts people who play the Waffen-SS or the NKVD for political reasons, which should kinda not be the result.

Political correctness bois. All that matters

By the Battle of Berlin, Germany (and by extension the SS) were extremely short on manpower, so the SS began relying heavily on foreign recruits from occupied territory.

SS units were playable in Berlin, and they are mentioned in MP35 description so they donā€™t seem to have a problem with the SS being in the game other than not being legally allowed to include the symbols. I also remember the Tiger II squad had a censored version of some SS divisionā€™s symbol next to them on the menu.
I originally made this image for a thread about German uniforms in general, but Iā€™ll repost it here aswell so you can see the alternatives for the ā€˜illegalā€™ symbols that I came up with.

wellā€¦ the first guy, no. not even accurate in any sense.

the second picture of the squad, somewhat yes.

i say, somewhat yes, because during the berlin test, those guys were used in a fallschirmjƤger dispatched unit. which not accurate at allā€¦ because in real history they fallschirmjƤgers never got such uniforms. plus, in the berlin alpha they got the FG-42 ( mainly used by the fallschirmjƤgers )

saying this, we will not see the SS for many reason. if you already noticed, there are no swastikas in the game.

which itā€™s totally fine. because they wonā€™t be able to let people play at this game. there are still in many countries laws against showing certain specifi units, insignas and divisions.
