If night battles were to be added to Enlisted…any ideas?
At the end of WW2, the US, UK, Germany, and USSR each developed experimental night vision, IR scopes, etc. Most of these weapons were in the experimental stage, but some were put into actual use.
One problem is that the Japanese do not have night vision equipment…, well they have the Yamato Spirit and the sword, so they can handle it.
the soviet soldier looks confused about why his rifle was bending.
i want to see them too in the game, but with realism:
-heavy speed penalty, since the batteries were heavy as fuck and the soldiers had to be very careful when moving with the super expensive and fragile contraptions.
-the giant light on some of them could be spotted, so no campnoobing possible because every sniper using these weapons would literally have a light next to his head. the solution to that is obv. moving after every/every couple shots to change position and hide.
I’d love to see a night battle, especially in stalingrad or berlin.
Imagine pitch black maps iluminated localy with fires and flares (fired both automarically and by players).
Sth like in 1917 movie:
Alternating periods of good visibility and almost black screen.
Good idea. The scene through the ruins at night lit by flares is the most memorable scene in that movie.
I also like the scene in “Platoon (1986)” where the Vietcong silhouette emerges from the jungle in the darkness caused by the flares launched into the sky. I think the game can recreate this with Japanese soldiers.
I am not the biggest fan of visibility reduction especially when there’s IR gear in, because in practice it will be reduced for everyone else while the IR guys farm kills.
Now if you had a mode called “dawn assault” where the fight for caps 1/&2 happens in darkness, while afterwards the sun starts to rise - i might stick around.
Only issue I have with it is that most people will just turn up the gamma to avoid the night, unless they make it so it’s the same lvl of darkness regardless of gamma
Compared with these weapons, it is more suitable to fight at night by relying on lights that can be destroyed and flares that appear at intervals, at least it will be much more balanced.
