I think the lore was that those mech were captured from the ussr and pressed into service until the scientists finished copying and creatin the axis mechs for the event.
The Devs are so silly, they forgot the most iconic weapon that the Germans used in ww2…

This is a post war variant used in the 1960s but the panzerhund prototypes were deployed in 1946 on the eastern front (all according to the Wolfenstein wiki, it’s the best place for ww2 information 
)
